Information technology milestones. Basic knowledge of the structure and operation of a personal computer, computer networks, impact of these technologies on society and everyday life. An overview of ergonomic criteria in computer usage, data security issues, and legal issues.
Computer Architecture and information representation
Computer architecture. Von Neumann machine. Basic functions of a personal computer and its operating system. File System. The memory of a computer, unit measures: bit and byte. Memory access. Algorithms and representation of information. Digital encoding of information: alphanumeric characters (ASCII code), integers and floting-point. Boolean Algebra Elements.
Computer networks and the Internet
Computer networks and client-server architectures. Differences between distributed systems and computer networks. Network categories: LAN, MAN, WAN. Communication protocols. Internet Services. TCP / IP protocol. DNS server. Web Server, Mail Server, ftp server, DB server. File system and extensions. Licenses for use.
Web and HTML
The birth of the WEB: Electronic texts, Hypertext, Internet. Web architectures: static and dynamic pages. Web technologies: Http, Html. URL. HTML5 style markers and links, images, lists, and tables. Style sheets and CSS. Websites with Kompozer.
Databases

The Third Reich marked the history of Germany in the Twentieth Century in a total way. The aim of the course of Contemporary History is to deepen the knowledge of the most important characteristics of the National Socialist experience in the Twentieth Century european history. The Contemporary History course will address the following issues: 1. the causes of Hitler’s rise to power; 2. the features of the Nazi government; 3. the racial and eugenic policies; 4. the Catholic Church’s attitude towards Nazism; 5. the forms of resistance to the Nazi regime.

STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE

The Course has as its object the study of the Italian public law and discusses some legal issues of particular social relevance. It's divided into a general part and a special part.
The general part of the program is devoted to the consideration of the constitutional and institutional structure of the State. Particular attention is paid both to the form of the State both to the form of government adopted in Italy, with specific reference to the functioning of constitutional bodies and their mutual relations. The first part of the Course also includes a preliminary discussion of some aspects of the system of sources of law and the judiciary in Italian.
The special part of the program is devoted to the study of fundamental human rights. Through an examination of the rights of freedom, the course aims to highlight their essential functionality to the individual and social development of the human person.

l corso sarà diviso in tre moduli. Nel primo modulo (modulo A), di introduzione teorica e concettuale, saranno presentati e discussi i concetti di informazione, codifica dell'informazione, informazione in formato digitale, multimedialità. Si esamineranno quindi le caratteristiche di base di un computer e i concetti di sistema operativo e di software applicativo. Sarà introdotto il concetto di rete telematica, con una presentazione e discussione delle caratteristiche fondamentali della rete Internet. Il secondo modulo (modulo B), di approfondimento monografico, affronterà il tema della lettura in ambiente digitale e del futuro del libro. Il terzo modulo (modulo C) prevede due possibili scelte, consigliate principalmente in base al corso di laurea: da un lato, per gli studenti di L10, un percorso che si soffermerà sui recenti sviluppi del WorldWideWeb come strumento per la disseminazione delle informazioni e le recenti forme di complessità organizzata che questa informazione sta assumendo; dall'altro, per chi è iscritto alla L20, un'introduzione al tema del pensiero computazionale e alle sue ripercussioni sociologiche e al rapporto tra narrazione e computazione. Secondo e terzo modulo sono fra loro indipendenti, e presuppongono entrambi il primo.

The communication of the organizations, and in particular the advertising, have undergone radical innovations in the last few years both from the point of view of the tools and with respect to the contents. Starting from the definition of the now classic five levers of business communication, it will deepen how they have changed in the last few years dominated by the web and its communication, participation and sharing logics.
In particular, two dimensions of advertising and corporate communication that are as innovative as they are little explored will be explored: storytelling and branded content.
In reference to these last two thematic focuses will be present case studies. Students will be asked to present work of analysis and production of specific communication material.
