Languages and Literatures of SouthEast Asia
(objectives)
The course has the following objectives:
Read and analyze different grammatical and morphosyntactic structures of a prose text in Chinese. Read and translate modern and contemporary poetry texts. The student must be able to organize a speech and formulate, individually or in a group, one or more presentations of the authors we have studied, underlining the context and ranging across the different languages of the forms of literature studied.
-
Marianini Torta Dèsirée
(syllabus)
The course will address the salient and contradictory aspects of contemporary China through the reading and analysis of works of modern and contemporary Chinese literature. Taking a cue from an initial macro-theme, we will devote ourselves to the analysis of a text by one or more authors: we will translate part of the text, we will deepen the context, identifying the historical and cultural substrate that allowed the emergence of these literary works. We will develop and deepen the macro theme also through the language of cinema and its declinations (documentary and video art), we will get to know the personalities of cultures that have followed one another from the late twentieth century until now. We will dwell on the contrasts of today's China, investigating thought, individual sensitivities, and the dominant vision.
