« Traduction et traductologie par les corpus »
Students will be trained in the translation analysis (the commentaire de traduction) of texts from French into Italian and from Italian into French. They will also explore theoretical and practical aspects of translation through concepts, tools and translation practices developed in the field of corporate linguistics. It will also explore the concept of specialty languages and the problems of translating specialty texts.

Il corso è strutturato intorno ad un nucleo tematico centrale, che prevede la lettura, la riflessione e la traduzione dell’opera letteraria per bambini di Violante Saramago. Tale lavoro - che costituirà l’elemento centrale per la valutazione degli studenti - sarà integrato con una approfondita informazione riguardo l’autrice e del genere letterario in studio, attraverso la lettura, traduzione o retroversione di altri testi, che permetteranno allo studente di avere una più ampia competenza lessicale e stilistica per affrontare il lavoro di questo primo nucleo.
Del calendario delle lezioni emergono altri nuclei tematici che saranno approcciati via via e in concomitanza con la presenza in classe di prestigiosi oratori, invitati a parlare dei temi della propria specialità: la storia e l’arte medievale portoghese (Prof.ssa Carla Varela Fernandes, Universidade Nova de Lisboa), arte contemporanea (Prof. António Marques, Ar.Co - Centro de Arte & Comunicação Visual, Lisboa), vini portoghesi (Dott.ssa Christine Vitali), fado di Lisbona e di Coimbra (Prof. Carlo Giacobbe), termalismo in Portogallo (Dott. João de Almeida Dias). Questi incontri - in collaborazione con la Cattedra Pedro Hispano / Camões IC) pretendono avvicinarsi agli interessi attuali degli studenti, così come di alcuni aspetti pratici e concreti con cui possibilmente si imbatteranno in un proprio futuro professionale che includa la lingua portoghese. Così, come preparazione dei vari incontri, sarà richiesta e valutata la partecipazione dello studente nella lavorazione di testi teorici e non con tematiche affini a quelle che verranno affrontate.

Of wonders and miracles: dialogues between science and religion
The focus of this course will be on the broad topic of science and religion characterising both the modern and the contemporary age. Further materials of study, both in English and Italian, will be provided by the instructor. The language of instruction is Italian, with parts in English as per the requirements of the Programme. Students enrolled in LM37 will be offered supplementary classes in English. The students will be encouraged to develop their critical and analystica skills. Attendance is not compulsory. Level of engagement in class, ability to participate in and stimulate class discussion, ability to defend own arguments will be positively considered towards the final mark.

Corso monografico Strategie di campagna elettorale nella Roma tardo-repubblicana La profonda crisi del sistema elettorale in Roma antica nel I sec. a.C. è uno dei sintomi più gravi che annunciano la fine della libera res publica e l’inarrestabile passaggio del potere nelle mani di leaders carismatici. Il manualetto di propaganda elettorale, tramandatoci sotto il nome di Quinto Cicerone e concepito come guida per la campagna elettorale dell’illustre fratello Marco, candidato alla carica di console, offre una preziosa testimonianza sul funzionamento della componente democratica della res publica romana già in crisi. La lettura di parti dell’orazione Pro Murena, pronunziata dallo stesso Cicerone in difesa di un politico accusato di brogli elettorali, ci permetterà di approfondire alcuni aspetti della crisi del sistema elettorale nella tarda età repubblicana.

Course: Applied Linguistics
Descriptions: The purpose of this course is to provide students with advanced knowledge in the field of language teaching. The first module of the course provides an overview of the applications of research-based linguistic theory and methodology to language teaching, from the the perspective of the so called educational linguistics. The second module focuses on vocabulary learning and teaching; it will be shown how contemporary approaches to lexical semantics can help to construct more effective methods of teaching lexical phenomena like polysemy, homonymy, metaphors, idioms.

Comprensione della formazione storica e delle diverse caratteristiche strutturali di testi settoriali e specialistici dell'italiano, in particolare in relazione alla diamesia. Padronanza della fenomenologia e della terminologia relative. Capacità di analisi linguistica, grammaticale e testuale di un testo (anche specialistico o settoriale) scritto, parlato, trasmesso. The crazy liberalization of the word: The 20s in Russia
In the 20s in Europe simultaneously radicalize those political ideas, which will be the ground for the Totalitarianisms of the 30s and a continuos need of cultural exchange throughout the continent. To this contribute also Russia, which will soon become the Soviet Union, as a brand new country after the events of the October 1917. The course will illustrate and analize the overview from a literary, artistic and musical point of view, following all the processes, which will lead to the complete submission of society to the need of the bolsheviks untile the final turning point, in 1929, to the cult of Stal'in's personality.
