IDONEITA' LINGUISTICA INGLESE III
(objectives)
The course aims to develop business writing skills in English by practicing the basic forms of business correspondence (enquiries, replies, orders, complaints, apologies) and is intended for students who have already developed an intermediate language competence in English by passing the language exam of Idoneità Linguistica Inglese I and II and/or by getting intermediate language certifications (B1 or plus). Therefore, the teaching of grammar as such will be limited to the review of the morpho-syntactic structures encountered in their contexts of use during writing activities. Online review exercises and grammar consolidation tests will be available on the Moodle platform at the course webpage (http://moodle19.unitus.it/moodlel/course/category.php?id=27) The password is provided upon request. Online activities will be complemented by traditional face-to-face class activities for those who are not familiar with distance learning tools. The course includes a series of compulsory exercises (fill-in, multiple choice, drag & drop questions), available online and marked by the question mark icon, a series of writing tasks, corrected by the teacher and only available for a limited time period, and a series of optional exercises uploaded for students who need to revise grammar and lexicon. Basic notions of Business Communication and Cross-cultural communication will also be provided by examining the development of the discipline since its Medieval origins.
