N.B. It should be noted that since some years, the "typical and atypical contracts" have been (again) including into the program, while once they had been excluded because the contract law course was dedicated to the study of all typical and atypical contracts. Already in the past academic year, during the exam, each student was asked at least one question about a typical or atypical contract

The course includes language sessions to improve the four basic skills - listening, reading, speaking and writing - and to bring students up to a B1 level. As regards listening, this means listening to original texts relating to a variety of everyday situations and featuring a number of regional accents. Reading involves the study of texts that are both generic and more specialist and related to the students' area of study, with the focus on learning the techniques needed to correctly read the texts and answer multiple choice questions. Writing exercises include a review of the basic grammar knowledge required for B1 level and writing a variety of types of texts - emails, notices, business letters, reports, reviews, opinion essays. The course focuses less on speaking skills given the number of participants, but, in any case, there is always a chance to interact with the teacher and other students in English during all lessons.

The course includes language sessions to improve the four basic skills - listening, reading, speaking and writing - and to bring students up to a B1 level. As regards listening, this means listening to original texts relating to a variety of everyday situations and featuring a number of regional accents. Reading involves the study of texts that are both generic and more specialist and related to the students' area of study, with the focus on learning the techniques needed to correctly read the texts and answer multiple choice questions. Writing exercises include a review of the basic grammar knowledge required for B1 level and writing a variety of types of texts - emails, notices, business letters, reports, reviews, opinion essays. The course focuses less on speaking skills given the number of participants, but, in any case, there is always a chance to interact with the teacher and other students in English during all lessons.

The course of “International Law” is divided into two parts (general part and special part).

The first part, of a general nature and covering approximately 90% of the course hours, deals with the study of the following topics:
- the definition, origin and distinctive features of international law, as well as the understanding of the peculiar profiles of legality and obligatory nature of the international legal system;
- the birth of the State and its characteristics of independence and sovereignty as a subject of international law, as well as the other subjects, real and presumed, of international law;
- the formation of international norms and the relationship between the different sources;
- general international law, custom, general principles of law, jus cogens and erga omnes obligations, as well as the related codification;
- international agreements and the law of treaties as codified in the Vienna Convention of 1969, with particular regard to the stipulation, interpretation, reservations, invalidity and extinction, as well as the succession of States in treaties; international organizations and their acts;
- the UN Charter, the UN bodies and acts, the use of force, the collective security system and peacekeeping and peace-enforcement operations;
- the implementation of international norms in state legal systems;
- international wrongdoing and liability for violation of international obligations;
- the peaceful resolution and prevention of international disputes.

The second part of the course, of a specialist nature and covering approximately 10% of the course hours, is dedicated to the World Trade Organization:
- the institutions and rules of international trade from GATT to the WTO, with the rounds of trade negotiations and the development of the regulations on international trade in goods and services;
- the principle of non-discrimination, in terms of internal and external equal treatment;
- duties and non-tariff barriers to trade, such as quantitative restrictions, subsidies and dumping;
- derogations and exceptions, such as free trade areas, safeguard measures, and measures for developing countries;
- the dispute resolution system, with the panels and the Appellate Body.

Seminars: during the course, seminars on current topics are sometimes held, including interdisciplinary ones, in collaboration with professors from other departments and inviting scholars and experts from other universities or institutions.

The in-depth process of the subject of this course is set up in successive stages, with the aim of making the student fully understand. Definition of the main institutes of international trade and international trade law, which includes a necessary short historical excursus on the evolution of trade - 13 hours of lessons;
b) Sources, Subjects and national and international Institutions of transnational trade. Analysis of the economic impact of trade on the world scenario: the role played by China, EU, USA and other important trading partners of Italy. Evolution of the "phenomenon" of the Globalization of trade and services, with a focus on the different types of goods - 12 hours of lessons
c) Structure, functions and purposes of the World Trade Organization also in connection with the diffusion of the new lex mercatoria . The role of customs administrations in protecting and promoting fair trade. Exercises on the application of the new lex mercatoria -11 hours of lessons.
d) Product classification, with a focus on particular product categories; the international Taric classification. The safety of the products connected to the risk analysis calibrated on the characteristics of the different products, in particular leather and pharmaceutical products. The exam program covers the entire subject debated in the manuals of private law (including topics not addressed in class and in study groups), except for the parts concerning:

N.B. It should be noted that since some years, the "typical and atypical contracts" have been (again) including into the program, while once they had been excluded because the contract law course was dedicated to the study of all typical and atypical contracts. The course includes language sessions to improve the four basic skills - listening, reading, speaking and writing - and to bring students up to a B1 level. As regards listening, this means listening to original texts relating to a variety of everyday situations and featuring a number of regional accents. Reading involves the study of texts that are both generic and more specialist and related to the students' area of study, with the focus on learning the techniques needed to correctly read the texts and answer multiple choice questions. Writing exercises include a review of the basic grammar knowledge required for B1 level and writing a variety of types of texts - emails, notices, business letters, reports, reviews, opinion essays. The course focuses less on speaking skills given the number of participants, but, in any case, there is always a chance to interact with the teacher and other students in English during all lessons.
