The course is an introduction to the basic concepts of information technology such as information representation, hardware, basic software and operating systems. Insights on computer networks, web page development, programming principles, databases, web marketing principles.

The course aims to deal with the most important topics and concepts of political communication: theoretical frameworks, actors, tools, evolution and new challenges for research.
The first part of the course will be focused mainly on some crucial concepts of political science, useful to introduce the political communication topics and to contextualize the political systems that we'll talk about. in this first part, the main topics are: the concept of politics, the political regimes, the political parties and the electoral systems.
The second part of the course will explore and will be focused on the handbook of political communication: theoretical frameworks, main actors, tools and trends of political communication, recent evolution of the discipline in the digital era.
The third part will be dedicated to an in-depth analysis of the numerous factors that make communication so crucial in politics. We will explain the recent cultural and psycho-social dynamics that have led us to permanent campaigning.

STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE

The Course has as its object the study of the Italian public law and discusses some legal issues of particular social relevance. It's divided into a general part and a special part.
The general part of the program is devoted to the consideration of the constitutional and institutional structure of the State. Particular attention is paid both to the form of the State both to the form of government adopted in Italy, with specific reference to the functioning of constitutional bodies and their mutual relations. The first part of the Course also includes a preliminary discussion of some aspects of the system of sources of law and the judiciary in Italian.
The special part of the program is devoted to the study of fundamental human rights. Through an examination of the rights of freedom, the course aims to highlight their essential functionality to the individual and social development of the human person.

The course illustrates and analyses the typical environments, figures and practices of digital cultures. With the help of workshop activities aimed at understanding and mastering online tools and spaces, it will provide an overview of the transformations that the new media communication regimes are carrying out in the field of experience and imagination, production and consumption, on the figures of the public and users, in the social relations mediated by digital platforms and in the processes of personal and collective identity building.
The course aims to provide theoretical and practical tools useful to understand first of all social media and social networks, considered, today more than ever, the space within which cultural, economic and social phenomena, characteristic of the present, are structured.

The communication of the organizations, and in particular the advertising, have undergone radical innovations in the last few years both from the point of view of the tools and with respect to the contents. Starting from the definition of the now classic five levers of business communication, it will deepen how they have changed in the last few years dominated by the web and its communication, participation and sharing logics.
In particular, two dimensions of advertising and corporate communication that are as innovative as they are little explored will be explored: storytelling and branded content.
In reference to these last two thematic focuses will be present case studies. Students will be asked to present work of analysis and production of specific communication material.

The course will be divided into three modules. The first module module A) is a theoretical and conceptual introduction, including the concepts of information, encoding and digital format, and multimedia. The basic characteristics of a computer and the concepts of operating system and application software will also be examined. TheIt will also be introduced the concept of computer network, with a presentation and discussion of the fundamental characteristics of the Internet. The second module (module B), a monographic in-depth study, will address the theme of electronic books and digital texts. The third module (module C) will focus on computational thinking and the role of algorithms in contemporary society and on the evolution of the World Wide Web as an information environment both at a general level and in relation to the dissemination of cultural heritage.
