Degree Course: Languages and Cultures for International Communication

Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione
I laureati devono conseguire conoscenze e capacità di comprensione in un campo di studi di livello post secondario e devono essere ad un livello che, caratterizzato dall'uso di libri di testo avanzati, includa anche la conoscenza di alcuni temi d'avanguardia nel proprio campo di studi.
Essi devono dimostrare un livello di conoscenza delle due lingue straniere oggetto del corso di studi, verificato attraverso lo strumento del passaporto per le lingue (livello di uscita dal II anno C1/C2 per inglese, francese, tedesco, spagnolo, portoghese, livello B2 per russo, livello B2/C1 per arabo).
Particolare attenzione è dedicata alla traduttologia e a lessici settoriali.
E' ritenuto fondamentale lo sviluppo delle competenze linguistiche in contesti di comunicazione interculturale.
Pertanto gli studi si svolgeranno con particolare riferimento alla storia e alla fenomenologia contemporanea delle civiltà europee ed extraeuropee, delle produzioni letterarie e artistiche, dei sistemi sociali dei paesi appartenenti alle aree linguistiche di riferimento.
Particolari abilità dovranno essere sviluppate nel campo della organizzazione e comunicazione culturale e della editoria cartacea e multimediale.
Il laureato magistrale:
- comprende lo sviluppo storico delle lingue studiate
- comprende lo sviluppo storico delle relative letterature
- colloca le sue competenze linguistiche e letterarie nel contesto della comunicazione globale
Le conoscenze sono acquisite partecipando attivamente alle attività didattiche (lezioni, seminari e laboratori), che per quanto riguarda l’insegnamento delle lingue comprendono anche attività di lettorato ed esercitazioni, e attraverso lo studio individuale.
Il possesso di queste conoscenze è verificato tramite il superamento delle prove d'esame di ciascun insegnamento, l’accertamento del livello delle competenze linguistiche, la redazione di elaborati individuali collegati ai singoli insegnamenti, la redazione di una dissertazione individuale per la prova finale.
Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione
I laureati devono essere capaci di applicare le loro conoscenze e capacità di comprensione in maniera da dimostrare un approccio professionale al loro lavoro, e devono possedere competenze adeguate sia per ideare e sostenere argomentazioni che per risolvere problemi nel proprio campo di studi.
Sarà fondamentale che i laureati dimostrino capacità di interpretazione critica e di contestualizzazione storica e teorica di testi letterari e linguistici, di utilizzazione delle nuove tecnologie comunicative, e di sviluppo delle capacità di autonomo lavoro intellettuale e creativo nei diversi campi della traduzione, della cura editoriale, della comunicazione in lingua relativa a eventi culturali, alla illustrazione di patrimoni culturali e artistici, alla mediazione culturale e linguistica in generale.
In particolare il laureato magistrale:
- sa applicare le conoscenze acquisite all'analisi e alla traduzione di testi linguistici e letterari del più diverso tenore
- è in grado di applicare categorie critico-letterarie
- è in grado di considerare i contesti storici generali e i riferimenti culturali dei testi
- sa adoperare i più diversi strumenti della informazione e comunicazione multimediale
Il possesso di queste capacità sarà verificato attraverso i risultati delle prove d'esame, il lavoro didattico svolto all'interno dei corsi, delle esercitazioni e dei laboratori (produzione di relazioni, di saggi di traduzione e di interpretazione, e attraverso la preparazione dell'elaborato per la prova finale, che conterrà almeno un capitolo nella lingua straniera di riferimento dell'elaborato.
Autonomia di giudizio
Il laureato magistrale della classe 37 deve essere in grado di:
- raccogliere autonomamente dati su problematiche connesse alla specificità della classe mostrando autonomia organizzativa;
- utilizzare consapevolmente gli strumenti bibliografici in relazione alla ricerca linguistica e letteraria e alla mediazione interculturale;
- analizzare ed elaborare i dati della comunicazione orale o di testi scritti, soprattutto letterari, secondo le metodologie apprese, sempre in un ampio orizzonte storico-culturale, mostrando un'autonoma capacità di interpretazione e giudizio e la capacità di problematizzare il testo, cioè di leggerlo non come un dato acquisito, ma come uno stimolo alla riflessione ermeneutica;
- approfondire l'attualità socio-culturale dei contesti storico-geografici e culturali relativi alle lingue studiate, anche nella prospettiva dell'interculturalità.
Tutte le attività formative previste nel percorso della classe 37 concorrono all'acquisizione di autonomia di giudizio; si evidenziano in particolare:
- le attività rivolte a rilevare i mutamenti dei contesti socio-linguistico-culturali e il ruolo delle lingue nelle relazioni interculturali;
- la partecipazioni alle attività di tirocinio formativo o professionale, in cui lo studente si raffronta con contesti operativi specifici;
- la partecipazione ad attività di gruppo seminariali con discussioni ed esercitazioni sull'analisi e l'interpretazioni dei testi, e sulle questioni metodologiche e teoriche di livello avanzato, in cui verrà stimolata la creatività critica dei discenti;
- la partecipazione ad attività di gruppo seminariali propedeutiche allo svolgimento della prova finale e durante l'attività di organizzazione ed elaborazione della prova finale stessa;
- la redazione dell'elaborato finale, in cui lo studente dovrà dar prova di aver effettivamente conseguito una sua propria autonomia di giudizio, affrontando con originalità ed efficacia l'argomento propostogli.
La verifica delle capacità di giudizio autonomo sarà effettuata mediante:
- esami di profitto e prove di valutazione scritte e orali;
- relazioni sui risultati della partecipazione ad attività di laboratorio e di tipo seminariale;
- prova di valutazione finale.Abilità comunicative
Il laureato magistrale della classe 37 deve avere acquisito la capacità di:
- comunicare in maniera appropriata in italiano e nelle lingue straniere studiate informazioni, idee, problemi e soluzioni, mostrando competenza e libertà di espressione sia nella forma scritta sia nella forma orale, ed utilizzando adeguate forme comunicative a seconda degli interlocutori, sia specialisti sia non specialisti.
Il laureato magistrale saprà comprendere testi complessi, a cominciare dalle opere letterarie, e formulare articolate analisi critiche relative al proprio campo di studi;
- relazionarsi in contesti eterogenei e multiculturali scegliendo specifici registri comunicativi;
- formulare persuasivamente e a difendere efficacemente le proprie personali convinzioni e le scelte ideate e progettate per la soluzione di specifici problemi scientifici o professionali.
Oltre agli specifici insegnamenti dell'ambito linguistico, l'acquisizione delle abilità comunicative si raggiunge all'interno delle varie attività formative, tramite:
- relazioni ed elaborati su problematiche complesse;
- svolgimento di attività a diretto contatto con contesti multilinguistici e multiculturali;
- partecipazione a tirocini, stages, progetti Erasmus e Socrates;
- preparazione della prova finale, anche con l'impiego di strumenti multimediali.
Le presenti abilità sono verificate attraverso esami di profitto; elaborazione di relazioni e documenti scritti e l'esposizione orale dei medesimi, inclusa la prova di valutazione finale, in cui si presenta e si argomenta il contenuto dell'elaborato anche mediante supporto informatico.Capacità di apprendimento
Il laureato magistrale della classe 37 deve avere acquisito le strategie cognitive necessarie per:
- sviluppare ulteriormente le proprie competenze nelle lingue studiate, in vista di livelli di apprendimento più elevati, individuando gli strumenti più appropriati per un aggiornamento linguistico e culturale (ad esempio riferendosi a specifiche banche dati che consentano l'informazione aggiornata);
- sviluppare ulteriormente con capacità di analisi e di sintesi ed in regime di autonomia i contenuti studiati e tematiche di pertinenza della classe, da applicare a contesti professionali, in modo da ingenerare un continuo processo di formazione di autoapprendimento, o al fine di un proseguo dei propri studi a livelli di alta specializzazione.
Le capacità di apprendimento acquisite sono il risultato di tutte le attività formative, nel loro complesso; si sottolinea in particolare:
- lo studio individuale, affiancato da supporto tutoriale e iniziative di supporto alla capacità di programmazione e organizzazione del tempo di studio;
- attività laboratoriali e su piattaforma multimediale per l'apprendimento e l'auto-apprendimento, in particolare delle lingue;
- attività di ricerca bibliografica e di aggiornamento e uso di nuovi strumenti critici secondo le più recenti pubblicazioni nel proprio ambito di competenza;
- attività di confronto seminariale, con attiva e critica partecipazione da parte degli studenti, inclusa la correzione degli elaborati e riscrittura.
Viene valutata attraverso varie forme di verifica continua durante le attività formative.Requisiti di ammissione
Al corso di laurea magistrale in Lingue e culture per la comunicazione internazionale (LM 37) si accede da una delle seguenti lauree triennali:
ex DM 509 – classi 3, 5, 11, 13, 14, 15, 18, 23, 29, 30, 35, 38, 39;
ex DM 270 – L 1, L 3, L 5, L 6, L 10, L 11, L 12, L 15, L 19, L 20, L 36, L 37, L 42.
Vi possono accedere inoltre i titolari di laurea in Lingue e letterature straniere del vecchio ordinamento quadriennale e i titolari di diploma triennale in Interpretariato e traduzione.
Per accedere alla LM 37 bisogna inoltre avere conseguito come minimo 16 CFU nella lingua oggetto di maggiore approfondimento nel corso magistrale e come minimo 8 cfu in una letteratura straniera pertinente a tale lingua; almeno 12 CFU nella seconda lingua e 8 CFU in una letteratura straniera ad essa pertinente.
Bisognerà inoltre che siano stati conseguiti come minimo 8 CFU complessivamente nei seguenti ssd: L-FIL-LET/09 Filologia e linguistica romanza, L-FIL-LET/15 Filologia germanica, L-LIN/01 Glottologia e linguistica, L-LIN/02 Didattica delle Lingue moderne, L-LIN/21 Slavistica (per quanto attiene alla Filologia), M-FIL/05 Filosofia e teoria dei linguaggi.
E' prevista la verifica dell'adeguatezza della personale preparazione da parte di una commissione designata dal Consiglio del corso di studio, attraverso l'esame del curriculum formativo del corso di laurea triennale e delle votazioni conseguite e, se ritenuto necessario, attraverso colloqui personali o appositi test.
Prova finale
La prova finale prevede la stesura di un elaborato scritto, eventualmente supportato o corredato da materiali multimediali, su argomento coerente con gli studi della classe e concordato con un docente del Dipartimento.
L'elaborato, che non dovrà essere inferiore a 240000 battute e non superare le 400.000 battute, dovrà contenere elementi di originalità e dimostrare padronanza della tematica e capacità di applicazione di metodologie di ricerca.
Una parte dell'elaborato dovrà essere redatta in lingua straniera (la prima o la seconda lingua studiata) ed essere corredato da un abstract in lingua straniera.
La prova finale consisterà nella presentazione, discussione e argomentazione del tema trattato nell'elaborato davanti ad una Commissione, tra i cui componenti devono essere compresi il relatore e il correlatore della tesi.
Orientamento in ingresso
L'attività di orientamento nei confronti degli utenti potenziali del corso di studio viene svolta innanzitutto in direzione degli studenti che frequentano nella stessa sede il corso di laurea in Lingue e culture moderne (L 11), del quale il corso di laurea magistrale in Lingue e culture per la comunicazione internazionale (LM37) è stato pensato come continuazione ed approfondimento.
Inoltre, poiché l'esperienza rivela che una parte non irrilevante degli iscritti ha conseguito la laurea di primo livello in un ateneo diverso, particolare impegno viene dedicato all'illustrazione all'esterno delle caratteristiche e dei contenuti del corso di laurea magistrale, attraverso strumenti informativi telematici (social, posta) e cartacei.
Si prevedono incontri di orientamento con gli studenti che presentano istanza di preiscrizione.

Il Corso di Studio in breve
Il Corso di Laurea magistrale in Lingue per la Comunicazione Internazionale si propone di fornire ai propri laureati una griglia ben articolata di insegnamenti, in cui approfondite competenze metodologiche e critiche relative alle due lingue straniere scelte si coniugano a una matura capacità di comprensione e analisi del mondo e delle ampie dinamiche culturali di cui le lingue studiate sono espressione.
Il percorso formativo prevede in totale 11 esami.
Lo studente dovrà scegliere una prima lingua (due esami, uno per ogni anno di corso) e una seconda lingua (un esame) che saranno accompagnate da esami delle relative letterature.
Possono essere scelte le seguenti lingue: Arabo, Francese, Inglese, Portoghese e Brasiliano, Russo, Spagnolo, Tedesco.
L'arabo e il russo possono essere scelte solo come seconda lingua; per queste due lingue l'insegnamento della lingua e della letteratura fanno parte dello stesso corso.
La restante parte degli esami offre una gamma molto ampia e ragionata di insegnamenti: dalla storia alla linguistica, dalla filosofia alla geografia politica alle letterature anglo-americane.
Dall'anno accademico 2017-18 il corso si articola in due curricula:
curriculum Letterature e civiltà, che prevede l'approfondimento al secondo anno delle letterature; curriculum Attività e produzione culturale, che prevede l'esame obbligatorio di Editoria digitale e consente un esame di storia dell'arte invece della seconda annualità di letteratura straniera.
Gli studenti hanno a disposizione un esame a scelta da una lista di esami consigliati nel secondo anno.
Lo studente espliciterà le proprie scelte al momento della presentazione,
tramite il sistema informativo di ateneo, del piano di completamento o del piano di studio individuale,
secondo quanto stabilito dal regolamento didattico del corso di studio.

“Que yo soy el primero que he novelado en lengua castellana”: lectura crítica de las Novelas ejemplares de M. de Cervantes
Programa: Objeto del curso es el estudio crítico de las Novelas ejemplares de M. de Cervantes, contextualizadas en la literatura áurea española. Se enfocarán los principales temas, influjos y referencias; la construcción narrativa y su relación con la prosa de ficción de la época.
Resultados del aprendizaje: A través de los contenidos de las dos partes descritas anteriormente el estudiante podrá conocer las características de la literatura española del Siglo de oro, y de una manera más detenida la contribución cervantina a la narrativa moderna. Para la lectura y el comentario del texto elegidos se utilizan ensayos críticos que permiten captar las complejas facetas de los libros propuestos.

Gli studi lusitanistici a Viterbo, di lunga tradizione e riconosciuti meriti scientifici, hanno sempre prediletto, come una delle sue linee di ricerca, la questione di GENERE: dalla figura femminile nella lirica trobadorica alla produzione letteraria conventuale del XVII secolo, proseguendo poi, attraverso alcuni casi esemplari in epoca moderna, fino alla piena affermazione della donna nella Contemporaneità letteraria. Dentro di un piano organico di studi, che permette di accompagnare l’evoluzione delle idee e la sua espressione artistica, gli studenti sono stati guidati, dall’inizio dei suoi studi di letteratura di espressione portoghese, in un percorso alternativo e di indubbio interesse, guidato da questa fortissima matrice culturale lusitana, che la poetessa Natália Correia (1923-1993) ha definito esemplarmente nella espressione «il Portogallo è MATRIA», in contrasto al concetto di patria. Nel proseguimento e sviluppo di questa stessa linea, il corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II, propone agli studenti di LINGUE E CULTURE PER LA COMUNICAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE (LM-37), nel primo semestre del A.A. 2022-2023, la figura letteraria e umana di FERNANDA DE CASTRO (1901-1994), come artista poliedrica dalla notevole produzione scritta e come protagonista di un’epoca storica e culturale di grande interesse. Un approccio biografico sarà provato attraverso i brani diaristici della sua prosa memoriale (modulo I), e saranno scelti tre esempi illustrativi della sua opera variegata – poesia (modulo II), narrativa (modulo III) e narrativa infantile (modulo IV).

The course aims to improve the knowledge of the Spanish language and to put into practice the various theories of translation, applied to the cross-cultural dimension of Spanish-speaking countries. Through the guided translation of literary and non-fiction texts that are typologically and diachronically differentiated, the course aims to refine their ability to analyze and interpret texts with their linguistic and cultural implications. At the end of the course, students will have to: reach the level of linguistic competence envisaged for the two years (1st year attainment of level C1; 2nd year attainment of level C2) demonstrate a good knowledge of the variants of American Spanish (also relating to uses, customs and social codes) have developed good translation skills.

I . Pier Paolo Pasolini in Portogallo Durante la prima parte del corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II gli studenti avranno modo di ri-conoscere l’autore italiano attraverso il modo come la sua opera è stata ricevuta in Portogallo, attraverso le sue prime traduzioni portoghesi – narrativa, saggio, poesia – e il modo in cui la Critica portoghese e la Comunità artistica hanno reagito alla figura umana e politica e all’opera sfaccettata del “poeta dietro alla macchina da presa”. Verrà affrontata la complessa questione del linguaggio dialettale, tanto caro a Pasolini, e si passerà all’analisi del modo in cui i traduttori portoghesi hanno trasposto per una lingua altra (peraltro senza una forte presenza di dialetti) aspetti idiosincratici delle periferie romane e della vita del subproletariato urbano della capitale italiana. Il modo concluderà con l’analisi di alcune poesie portoghesi in cui Pasolini è direttamente citato, di cui si cercherà di proporre una traduzione e con l’incontro con il poeta Ricardo Marques, uno degli autori presi in studio.
II – Dulce Maria Cardoso in Italia
Introduzione alla figura di una delle voci più notevoli dell’attuale panorama delle Lettere portoghesi: Dulce Maria Cardoso. Attraverso la lettura di articoli e interviste si cercherà di situare la scrittrice nel contesto storico del Portogallo colonialista e post-rivoluzionario in cui nasce e vive e alla luce del quale si farà l’analisi della sua produzione letteraria, prendendo come esempio il suo primo grande successo editoriale, O retorno, e uno degli ultimi romanzi pubblicati, Eliete, a vida normal. Dopo una riflessione sulle mutazioni della società odierna, trasversali alla realtà europea, trasposti in una prosa che ha destato grande interesse anche in Italia, si passerà all’analisi comparativa di alcuni brani di quelle opere dell’autrice, tradotte in Italiano. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il traduttore italiano di Dulce Maria Cardoso, Daniele Petruccioli.
III – Trasposizione filmica e laboratorio di traduzione L’ultimo modulo sarà dedicato al cinema. Dopo una riflessione sul cinema come “traduzione” di un testo letterario, con la lettura di testi teorici e l’analisi di esempi di trasposizione filmica, gli studenti avranno l’occasione di contattare con la sceneggiatura originale dell’ultimo documentario del regista portoghese José Paulo Santos – 1965, PANREAL UM EDIFÍCIO DE NADIR AFONSO (Prémio Augusta come miglior documentario al 19º di BragaCine (Festival Internacional de Cinema Independente de Braga) – al fine del suo sottotitolaggio. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il regista e la proiezione dei tre cortometraggi sottotitolati dagli studenti del DISTU dell’A.A. 2017-18.

Attraverso la lettura di articoli e interviste si cercherà di situare la scrittrice nel contesto storico del Portogallo colonialista e post-rivoluzionario in cui nasce e vive e alla luce del quale si farà l’analisi della sua produzione letteraria, prendendo come esempio il suo primo grande successo editoriale, O retorno, e uno degli ultimi romanzi pubblicati, Eliete, a vida normal. Dopo una riflessione sulle mutazioni della società odierna, trasversali alla realtà europea, trasposti in una prosa che ha destato grande interesse anche in Italia, si passerà all’analisi comparativa di alcuni brani di quelle opere dell’autrice, tradotte in Italiano. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il traduttore italiano di Dulce Maria Cardoso, Daniele Petruccioli.
III – Trasposizione filmica e laboratorio di traduzione L’ultimo modulo sarà dedicato al cinema. Dopo una riflessione sul cinema come “traduzione” di un testo letterario, con la lettura di testi teorici e l’analisi di esempi di trasposizione filmica, gli studenti avranno l’occasione di contattare con la sceneggiatura originale dell’ultimo documentario del regista portoghese José Paulo Santos – 1965, PANREAL UM EDIFÍCIO DE NADIR AFONSO (Prémio Augusta come miglior documentario al 19º di BragaCine (Festival Internacional de Cinema Independente de Braga) – al fine del suo sottotitolaggio. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il regista e la proiezione dei tre cortometraggi sottotitolati dagli studenti del DISTU dell’A.A. 2017-18.

The course aims to develop students' competence at a Master’s level in the linguistic/discursive field of audio-visual contemporary narratives. The following issues will be specifically examined: a) evolution of Cinema and TV series language (comparative analysis of screening/broadcasting modalities within TV series and Cinema communication model, characters of contemporary forms, development peculiarities); b) adaptation as intersemiotic translation and as privileged expressive modality of contemporary TV and cinema narratives. Furthermore, concerning the Dublin descriptors, the aim is to develop:
1) Knowledge and Understanding at a Master’s level of analytical and methodological research tools. In particular, the linguistic and discursive analysis will be focused – with a multidisciplinary approach – on a) the development of TV Fiction and Cinema linguistic and textual model, b) the adaptation of literary text in its TV series, and Cinema transpositions and analysis of the relative translation processes and issues.

The French literature course for Master's students aims to deepen the knowledge and refine the analytical (i. e. stylistic, philological, rhetorical and hermeneutic) tools acquired during the Licence. The monographic programme focuses on the reading and in-depth study of a particular genre, author or work. The aim is to deepen the theoretical knowledge and notions of literary history previously assimilated, with a view to putting them to active use. Through an in-depth reading of the texts, students will be encouraged to make increasingly effective use of their ability to work independently and to form critical judgements about seventeenth- and eighteenth-century texts, while learning to master the tools of the discipline and to use secondary bibliography effectively and question it dialectically. The course also aims to introduce students to the methodology of scientific research and the preparation of a research project. The course will therefore provide students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with the hermeneutic tools to understand the texts addressed (1: knowledge and understanding, and 2: applying knowledge and understanding) and the expressive ones to form, nourish, nuance and discuss their judgment on questions of literary history through a meticulous reading of the texts (3: making judgements), as well as to communicate clearly and effectively on these themes in front of a heterogeneous audience (4: communication skills) and extend the reflection in a autonomous through the acquisition of the skills that will allow them to undertake the subsequent course of study (5: learning skills).

Programa: Objeto del curso es el estudio crítico de las Novelas ejemplares de M. de Cervantes, contextualizadas en la literatura áurea española. Se enfocarán los principales temas, influjos y referencias; la construcción narrativa y su relación con la prosa de ficción de la época.
Resultados del aprendizaje: A través de los contenidos de las dos partes descritas anteriormente el estudiante podrá conocer las características de la literatura española del Siglo de oro, y de una manera más detenida la contribución cervantina a la narrativa moderna. Gli studi lusitanistici a Viterbo, di lunga tradizione e riconosciuti meriti scientifici, hanno sempre prediletto, come una delle sue linee di ricerca, la questione di GENERE: dalla figura femminile nella lirica trobadorica alla produzione letteraria conventuale del XVII secolo, proseguendo poi, attraverso alcuni casi esemplari in epoca moderna, fino alla piena affermazione della donna nella Contemporaneità letteraria. Dentro di un piano organico di studi, che permette di accompagnare l’evoluzione delle idee e la sua espressione artistica, gli studenti sono stati guidati, dall’inizio dei suoi studi di letteratura di espressione portoghese, in un percorso alternativo e di indubbio interesse, guidato da questa fortissima matrice culturale lusitana, che la poetessa Natália Correia (1923-1993) ha definito esemplarmente nella espressione «il Portogallo è MATRIA», in contrasto al concetto di patria. Nel proseguimento e sviluppo di questa stessa linea, il corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II, propone agli studenti di LINGUE E CULTURE PER LA COMUNICAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE (LM-37), nel primo semestre del A.A. 2022-2023, la figura letteraria e umana di FERNANDA DE CASTRO (1901-1994), come artista poliedrica dalla notevole produzione scritta e come protagonista di un’epoca storica e culturale di grande interesse. Un approccio biografico sarà provato attraverso i brani diaristici della sua prosa memoriale (modulo I), e saranno scelti tre esempi illustrativi della sua opera variegata – poesia (modulo II), narrativa (modulo III) e narrativa infantile (modulo IV).

The course provides students with basic knowledge of the EU legal system. It is divided into three parts. The first part includes: an introduction to the historical setting of the European Integration, the description of the institutional structure of the EU, its legal sources and the main features of its decision-making process. It starts with an introduction, which focuses on the integration process through the modification of the treaties and the enlargement. It highlights the peculiarities of the European Union as a legal order and a “community of law”, with respect to the phenomenon of international organization. Then, the European institutional framework is examined, taking into account the relation between the Institutions and the principles guiding their interaction. The toolkit adopted by the Union to overcome the democratic deficit is illustrated, including the decision-making procedures for the adoption of EU acts. Then, the course focuses on the principles which regulate the attribution and the exercise of EU competences and the forms of differentiated application. The hierarchy, the features and functioning of EU sources is then introduced and explained in its relations with domestic law. The second part is devoted to the enforcement of EU law vis-à-vis the Union, the Member States, and individuals. The notions of primacy, autonomy and direct effect of EU law are widely investigated, alongside the modalities for the implementation of EU law in national legal orders, in particular in Italy. It also gives an account of the functioning of the judicial system of the EU, focusing on the functions of the European Court of Justice in its dialogue with national judges. The third part is devoted to substantive matters, relating to the protection of fundamental rights and the role of the EU Charter, the European citizenship and freedom of circulation within the EU.

Verrà affrontata la complessa questione del linguaggio dialettale, tanto caro a Pasolini, e si passerà all’analisi del modo in cui i traduttori portoghesi hanno trasposto per una lingua altra (peraltro senza una forte presenza di dialetti) aspetti idiosincratici delle periferie romane e della vita del subproletariato urbano della capitale italiana. Il modo concluderà con l’analisi di alcune poesie portoghesi in cui Pasolini è direttamente citato, di cui si cercherà di proporre una traduzione e con l’incontro con il poeta Ricardo Marques, uno degli autori presi in studio.
II – Dulce Maria Cardoso in Italia
Introduzione alla figura di una delle voci più notevoli dell’attuale panorama delle Lettere portoghesi: Dulce Maria Cardoso. Attraverso la lettura di articoli e interviste si cercherà di situare la scrittrice nel contesto storico del Portogallo colonialista e post-rivoluzionario in cui nasce e vive e alla luce del quale si farà l’analisi della sua produzione letteraria, prendendo come esempio il suo primo grande successo editoriale, O retorno, e uno degli ultimi romanzi pubblicati, Eliete, a vida normal. Dopo una riflessione sulle mutazioni della società odierna, trasversali alla realtà europea, trasposti in una prosa che ha destato grande interesse anche in Italia, si passerà all’analisi comparativa di alcuni brani di quelle opere dell’autrice, tradotte in Italiano. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il traduttore italiano di Dulce Maria Cardoso, Daniele Petruccioli.
III – Trasposizione filmica e laboratorio di traduzione L’ultimo modulo sarà dedicato al cinema. Dopo una riflessione sul cinema come “traduzione” di un testo letterario, con la lettura di testi teorici e l’analisi di esempi di trasposizione filmica, gli studenti avranno l’occasione di contattare con la sceneggiatura originale dell’ultimo documentario del regista portoghese José Paulo Santos – 1965, PANREAL UM EDIFÍCIO DE NADIR AFONSO (Prémio Augusta come miglior documentario al 19º di BragaCine (Festival Internacional de Cinema Independente de Braga) – al fine del suo sottotitolaggio. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il regista e la proiezione dei tre cortometraggi sottotitolati dagli studenti del DISTU dell’A.A. 2017-18.

“Adapting Narrative Modes”: Linguistic and discursive patterns in contemporary TV Series and Cinema. The course aims to develop students' competence at a Master’s level in the linguistic/discursive field of audio-visual contemporary narratives. The following issues will be specifically examined: a) evolution of Cinema and TV series language (comparative analysis of screening/broadcasting modalities within TV series and Cinema communication model, characters of contemporary forms, development peculiarities); b) adaptation as intersemiotic translation and as privileged expressive modality of contemporary TV and cinema narratives. Furthermore, concerning the Dublin descriptors, the aim is to develop:
1) Knowledge and Understanding at a Master’s level of analytical and methodological research tools. In particular, the linguistic and discursive analysis will be focused – with a multidisciplinary approach – on a) the development of TV Fiction and Cinema linguistic and textual model, b) the adaptation of literary text in its TV series, and Cinema transpositions and analysis of the relative translation processes and issues.

Gli studi lusitanistici a Viterbo, di lunga tradizione e riconosciuti meriti scientifici, hanno sempre prediletto, come una delle sue linee di ricerca, la questione di GENERE: dalla figura femminile nella lirica trobadorica alla produzione letteraria conventuale del XVII secolo, proseguendo poi, attraverso alcuni casi esemplari in epoca moderna, fino alla piena affermazione della donna nella Contemporaneità letteraria. Dentro di un piano organico di studi, che permette di accompagnare l’evoluzione delle idee e la sua espressione artistica, gli studenti sono stati guidati, dall’inizio dei suoi studi di letteratura di espressione portoghese, in un percorso alternativo e di indubbio interesse, guidato da questa fortissima matrice culturale lusitana, che la poetessa Natália Correia (1923-1993) ha definito esemplarmente nella espressione «il Portogallo è MATRIA», in contrasto al concetto di patria. Nel proseguimento e sviluppo di questa stessa linea, il corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II, propone agli studenti di LINGUE E CULTURE PER LA COMUNICAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE (LM-37), nel primo semestre del A.A. 2022-2023, la figura letteraria e umana di FERNANDA DE CASTRO (1901-1994), come artista poliedrica dalla notevole produzione scritta e come protagonista di un’epoca storica e culturale di grande interesse. Un approccio biografico sarà provato attraverso i brani diaristici della sua prosa memoriale (modulo I), e saranno scelti tre esempi illustrativi della sua opera variegata – poesia (modulo II), narrativa (modulo III) e narrativa infantile (modulo IV).

The course provides students with basic knowledge of the EU legal system. It is divided into three parts. The first part includes: an introduction to the historical setting of the European Integration, the description of the institutional structure of the EU, its legal sources and the main features of its decision-making process. It starts with an introduction, which focuses on the integration process through the modification of the treaties and the enlargement. It highlights the peculiarities of the European Union as a legal order and a “community of law”, with respect to the phenomenon of international organization. Then, the European institutional framework is examined, taking into account the relation between the Institutions and the principles guiding their interaction. The toolkit adopted by the Union to overcome the democratic deficit is illustrated, including the decision-making procedures for the adoption of EU acts. Then, the course focuses on the principles which regulate the attribution and the exercise of EU competences and the forms of differentiated application. The hierarchy, the features and functioning of EU sources is then introduced and explained in its relations with domestic law. The second part is devoted to the enforcement of EU law vis-à-vis the Union, the Member States, and individuals. The notions of primacy, autonomy and direct effect of EU law are widely investigated, alongside the modalities for the implementation of EU law in national legal orders, in particular in Italy. It also gives an account of the functioning of the judicial system of the EU, focusing on the functions of the European Court of Justice in its dialogue with national judges. The third part is devoted to substantive matters, relating to the protection of fundamental rights and the role of the EU Charter, the European citizenship and freedom of circulation within the EU.

I . Pier Paolo Pasolini in Portogallo Durante la prima parte del corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II gli studenti avranno modo di ri-conoscere l’autore italiano attraverso il modo come la sua opera è stata ricevuta in Portogallo, attraverso le sue prime traduzioni portoghesi – narrativa, saggio, poesia – e il modo in cui la Critica portoghese e la Comunità artistica hanno reagito alla figura umana e politica e all’opera sfaccettata del “poeta dietro alla macchina da presa”. Verrà affrontata la complessa questione del linguaggio dialettale, tanto caro a Pasolini, e si passerà all’analisi del modo in cui i traduttori portoghesi hanno trasposto per una lingua altra (peraltro senza una forte presenza di dialetti) aspetti idiosincratici delle periferie romane e della vita del subproletariato urbano della capitale italiana. Il modo concluderà con l’analisi di alcune poesie portoghesi in cui Pasolini è direttamente citato, di cui si cercherà di proporre una traduzione e con l’incontro con il poeta Ricardo Marques, uno degli autori presi in studio.
II – Dulce Maria Cardoso in Italia
Introduzione alla figura di una delle voci più notevoli dell’attuale panorama delle Lettere portoghesi: Dulce Maria Cardoso. Attraverso la lettura di articoli e interviste si cercherà di situare la scrittrice nel contesto storico del Portogallo colonialista e post-rivoluzionario in cui nasce e vive e alla luce del quale si farà l’analisi della sua produzione letteraria, prendendo come esempio il suo primo grande successo editoriale, O retorno, e uno degli ultimi romanzi pubblicati, Eliete, a vida normal. Dopo una riflessione sulle mutazioni della società odierna, trasversali alla realtà europea, trasposti in una prosa che ha destato grande interesse anche in Italia, si passerà all’analisi comparativa di alcuni brani di quelle opere dell’autrice, tradotte in Italiano. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il traduttore italiano di Dulce Maria Cardoso, Daniele Petruccioli.
III – Trasposizione filmica e laboratorio di traduzione L’ultimo modulo sarà dedicato al cinema. Dopo una riflessione sul cinema come “traduzione” di un testo letterario, con la lettura di testi teorici e l’analisi di esempi di trasposizione filmica, gli studenti avranno l’occasione di contattare con la sceneggiatura originale dell’ultimo documentario del regista portoghese José Paulo Santos – 1965, PANREAL UM EDIFÍCIO DE NADIR AFONSO (Prémio Augusta come miglior documentario al 19º di BragaCine (Festival Internacional de Cinema Independente de Braga) – al fine del suo sottotitolaggio. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il regista e la proiezione dei tre cortometraggi sottotitolati dagli studenti del DISTU dell’A.A. 2017-18.

“Adapting Narrative Modes”: Linguistic and discursive patterns in contemporary TV Series and Cinema. The course aims to develop students' competence at a Master’s level in the linguistic/discursive field of audio-visual contemporary narratives. The following issues will be specifically examined: a) evolution of Cinema and TV series language (comparative analysis of screening/broadcasting modalities within TV series and Cinema communication model, characters of contemporary forms, development peculiarities); b) adaptation as intersemiotic translation and as privileged expressive modality of contemporary TV and cinema narratives. Furthermore, concerning the Dublin descriptors, the aim is to develop:
1) Knowledge and Understanding at a Master’s level of analytical and methodological research tools. In particular, the linguistic and discursive analysis will be focused – with a multidisciplinary approach – on a) the development of TV Fiction and Cinema linguistic and textual model, b) the adaptation of literary text in its TV series, and Cinema transpositions and analysis of the relative translation processes and issues.
2) Applying Knowledge and Understanding to linguistic-discursive analysis, translation studies (inter-semiotic translation in particular), and individual and/or group presentation within the above-mentioned research domains. 3) Making Judgements: developing skills to select and research relevant texts and processes (to verify their peculiarities and features) in the field of linguistic-discursive analysis and translation adaptations, particularly in the area of transposition from literary text to TV Series and Cinema, of related modalities of access as well as in the area of reception evaluation; developing skills to evaluate criticism on these issues, and to evaluate their analysis and research. 4) Communication Skills aimed at the entire understanding of the texts analyzed in the course, of those listed in the bibliography of the course, of notions and methodology needed for communicative interaction during individual/group presentations. 5) Learning Skills: acquisition of a specific competence in the field of a) the field of linguistic-discursive analysis in contemporary TV Series and Cinema; of TV and Cinema adaptations as intersemiotic translation practice. Developing skills in Public Speaking to present group and/or individual works on the issues mentioned above.

Programa: Objeto del curso es el estudio crítico de las Novelas ejemplares de M. de Cervantes, contextualizadas en la literatura áurea española. Se enfocarán los principales temas, influjos y referencias; la construcción narrativa y su relación con la prosa de ficción de la época.
Resultados del aprendizaje: A través de los contenidos de las dos partes descritas anteriormente el estudiante podrá conocer las características de la literatura española del Siglo de oro, y de una manera más detenida la contribución cervantina a la narrativa moderna. Gli studi lusitanistici a Viterbo, di lunga tradizione e riconosciuti meriti scientifici, hanno sempre prediletto, come una delle sue linee di ricerca, la questione di GENERE: dalla figura femminile nella lirica trobadorica alla produzione letteraria conventuale del XVII secolo, proseguendo poi, attraverso alcuni casi esemplari in epoca moderna, fino alla piena affermazione della donna nella Contemporaneità letteraria. Dentro di un piano organico di studi, che permette di accompagnare l’evoluzione delle idee e la sua espressione artistica, gli studenti sono stati guidati, dall’inizio dei suoi studi di letteratura di espressione portoghese, in un percorso alternativo e di indubbio interesse, guidato da questa fortissima matrice culturale lusitana, che la poetessa Natália Correia (1923-1993) ha definito esemplarmente nella espressione «il Portogallo è MATRIA», in contrasto al concetto di patria. Nel proseguimento e sviluppo di questa stessa linea, il corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II, propone agli studenti di LINGUE E CULTURE PER LA COMUNICAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE (LM-37), nel primo semestre del A.A. 2022-2023, la figura letteraria e umana di FERNANDA DE CASTRO (1901-1994), come artista poliedrica dalla notevole produzione scritta e come protagonista di un’epoca storica e culturale di grande interesse. Un approccio biografico sarà provato attraverso i brani diaristici della sua prosa memoriale (modulo I), e saranno scelti tre esempi illustrativi della sua opera variegata – poesia (modulo II), narrativa (modulo III) e narrativa infantile (modulo IV).

I . Pier Paolo Pasolini in Portogallo Durante la prima parte del corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II gli studenti avranno modo di ri-conoscere l’autore italiano attraverso il modo come la sua opera è stata ricevuta in Portogallo, attraverso le sue prime traduzioni portoghesi – narrativa, saggio, poesia – e il modo in cui la Critica portoghese e la Comunità artistica hanno reagito alla figura umana e politica e all’opera sfaccettata del “poeta dietro alla macchina da presa”. Verrà affrontata la complessa questione del linguaggio dialettale, tanto caro a Pasolini, e si passerà all’analisi del modo in cui i traduttori portoghesi hanno trasposto per una lingua altra (peraltro senza una forte presenza di dialetti) aspetti idiosincratici delle periferie romane e della vita del subproletariato urbano della capitale italiana. Il modo concluderà con l’analisi di alcune poesie portoghesi in cui Pasolini è direttamente citato, di cui si cercherà di proporre una traduzione e con l’incontro con il poeta Ricardo Marques, uno degli autori presi in studio.
II – Dulce Maria Cardoso in Italia
Introduzione alla figura di una delle voci più notevoli dell’attuale panorama delle Lettere portoghesi: Dulce Maria Cardoso. Attraverso la lettura di articoli e interviste si cercherà di situare la scrittrice nel contesto storico del Portogallo colonialista e post-rivoluzionario in cui nasce e vive e alla luce del quale si farà l’analisi della sua produzione letteraria, prendendo come esempio il suo primo grande successo editoriale, O retorno, e uno degli ultimi romanzi pubblicati, Eliete, a vida normal. Dopo una riflessione sulle mutazioni della società odierna, trasversali alla realtà europea, trasposti in una prosa che ha destato grande interesse anche in Italia, si passerà all’analisi comparativa di alcuni brani di quelle opere dell’autrice, tradotte in Italiano. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il traduttore italiano di Dulce Maria Cardoso, Daniele Petruccioli.
III – Trasposizione filmica e laboratorio di traduzione L’ultimo modulo sarà dedicato al cinema. Dopo una riflessione sul cinema come “traduzione” di un testo letterario, con la lettura di testi teorici e l’analisi di esempi di trasposizione filmica, gli studenti avranno l’occasione di contattare con la sceneggiatura originale dell’ultimo documentario del regista portoghese José Paulo Santos – 1965, PANREAL UM EDIFÍCIO DE NADIR AFONSO (Prémio Augusta come miglior documentario al 19º di BragaCine (Festival Internacional de Cinema Independente de Braga) – al fine del suo sottotitolaggio. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il regista e la proiezione dei tre cortometraggi sottotitolati dagli studenti del DISTU dell’A.A. 2017-18.

“Adapting Narrative Modes”: Linguistic and discursive patterns in contemporary TV Series and Cinema. The course aims to develop students' competence at a Master’s level in the linguistic/discursive field of audio-visual contemporary narratives. The following issues will be specifically examined: a) evolution of Cinema and TV series language (comparative analysis of screening/broadcasting modalities within TV series and Cinema communication model, characters of contemporary forms, development peculiarities); b) adaptation as intersemiotic translation and as privileged expressive modality of contemporary TV and cinema narratives. Furthermore, concerning the Dublin descriptors, the aim is to develop:
1) Knowledge and Understanding at a Master’s level of analytical and methodological research tools. In particular, the linguistic and discursive analysis will be focused – with a multidisciplinary approach – on a) the development of TV Fiction and Cinema linguistic and textual model, b) the adaptation of literary text in its TV series, and Cinema transpositions and analysis of the relative translation processes and issues.
2) Applying Knowledge and Understanding to linguistic-discursive analysis, translation studies (inter-semiotic translation in particular), and individual and/or group presentation within the above-mentioned research domains. 3) Making Judgements: developing skills to select and research relevant texts and processes (to verify their peculiarities and features) in the field of linguistic-discursive analysis and translation adaptations, particularly in the area of transposition from literary text to TV Series and Cinema, of related modalities of access as well as in the area of reception evaluation; developing skills to evaluate criticism on these issues, and to evaluate their analysis and research. 4) Communication Skills aimed at the entire understanding of the texts analyzed in the course, of those listed in the bibliography of the course, of notions and methodology needed for communicative interaction during individual/group presentations. 5) Learning Skills: acquisition of a specific competence in the field of a) the field of linguistic-discursive analysis in contemporary TV Series and Cinema; of TV and Cinema adaptations as intersemiotic translation practice. The French literature course for Master's students aims to deepen the knowledge and refine the analytical (i. e. stylistic, philological, rhetorical and hermeneutic) tools acquired during the Licence. The monographic programme focuses on the reading and in-depth study of a particular genre, author or work. The aim is to deepen the theoretical knowledge and notions of literary history previously assimilated, with a view to putting them to active use. Through an in-depth reading of the texts, students will be encouraged to make increasingly effective use of their ability to work independently and to form critical judgements about seventeenth- and eighteenth-century texts, while learning to master the tools of the discipline and to use secondary bibliography effectively and question it dialectically. The course also aims to introduce students to the methodology of scientific research and the preparation of a research project. Gli studi lusitanistici a Viterbo, di lunga tradizione e riconosciuti meriti scientifici, hanno sempre prediletto, come una delle sue linee di ricerca, la questione di GENERE: dalla figura femminile nella lirica trobadorica alla produzione letteraria conventuale del XVII secolo, proseguendo poi, attraverso alcuni casi esemplari in epoca moderna, fino alla piena affermazione della donna nella Contemporaneità letteraria. Dentro di un piano organico di studi, che permette di accompagnare l’evoluzione delle idee e la sua espressione artistica, gli studenti sono stati guidati, dall’inizio dei suoi studi di letteratura di espressione portoghese, in un percorso alternativo e di indubbio interesse, guidato da questa fortissima matrice culturale lusitana, che la poetessa Natália Correia (1923-1993) ha definito esemplarmente nella espressione «il Portogallo è MATRIA», in contrasto al concetto di patria. Nel proseguimento e sviluppo di questa stessa linea, il corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II, propone agli studenti di LINGUE E CULTURE PER LA COMUNICAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE (LM-37), nel primo semestre del A.A. 2022-2023, la figura letteraria e umana di FERNANDA DE CASTRO (1901-1994), come artista poliedrica dalla notevole produzione scritta e come protagonista di un’epoca storica e culturale di grande interesse. Un approccio biografico sarà provato attraverso i brani diaristici della sua prosa memoriale (modulo I), e saranno scelti tre esempi illustrativi della sua opera variegata – poesia (modulo II), narrativa (modulo III) e narrativa infantile (modulo IV).

The course provides students with basic knowledge of the EU legal system. It is divided into three parts. The first part includes: an introduction to the historical setting of the European Integration, the description of the institutional structure of the EU, its legal sources and the main features of its decision-making process. It starts with an introduction, which focuses on the integration process through the modification of the treaties and the enlargement. It highlights the peculiarities of the European Union as a legal order and a “community of law”, with respect to the phenomenon of international organization. Then, the European institutional framework is examined, taking into account the relation between the Institutions and the principles guiding their interaction. The toolkit adopted by the Union to overcome the democratic deficit is illustrated, including the decision-making procedures for the adoption of EU acts. Then, the course focuses on the principles which regulate the attribution and the exercise of EU competences and the forms of differentiated application. The hierarchy, the features and functioning of EU sources is then introduced and explained in its relations with domestic law. The second part is devoted to the enforcement of EU law vis-à-vis the Union, the Member States, and individuals. The notions of primacy, autonomy and direct effect of EU law are widely investigated, alongside the modalities for the implementation of EU law in national legal orders, in particular in Italy. It also gives an account of the functioning of the judicial system of the EU, focusing on the functions of the European Court of Justice in its dialogue with national judges. The third part is devoted to substantive matters, relating to the protection of fundamental rights and the role of the EU Charter, the European citizenship and freedom of circulation within the EU.

The course aims to improve the knowledge of the Spanish language and to put into practice the various theories of translation, applied to the cross-cultural dimension of Spanish-speaking countries. Through the guided translation of literary and non-fiction texts that are typologically and diachronically differentiated, the course aims to refine their ability to analyze and interpret texts with their linguistic and cultural implications. At the end of the course, students will have to: reach the level of linguistic competence envisaged for level C2; demonstrate a good knowledge of the variants of American Spanish (also relating to uses, customs and social codes) have developed good translation skills

I . Pier Paolo Pasolini in Portogallo Durante la prima parte del corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II gli studenti avranno modo di ri-conoscere l’autore italiano attraverso il modo come la sua opera è stata ricevuta in Portogallo, attraverso le sue prime traduzioni portoghesi – narrativa, saggio, poesia – e il modo in cui la Critica portoghese e la Comunità artistica hanno reagito alla figura umana e politica e all’opera sfaccettata del “poeta dietro alla macchina da presa”. Verrà affrontata la complessa questione del linguaggio dialettale, tanto caro a Pasolini, e si passerà all’analisi del modo in cui i traduttori portoghesi hanno trasposto per una lingua altra (peraltro senza una forte presenza di dialetti) aspetti idiosincratici delle periferie romane e della vita del subproletariato urbano della capitale italiana. Il modo concluderà con l’analisi di alcune poesie portoghesi in cui Pasolini è direttamente citato, di cui si cercherà di proporre una traduzione e con l’incontro con il poeta Ricardo Marques, uno degli autori presi in studio.
II – Dulce Maria Cardoso in Italia
Introduzione alla figura di una delle voci più notevoli dell’attuale panorama delle Lettere portoghesi: Dulce Maria Cardoso. Attraverso la lettura di articoli e interviste si cercherà di situare la scrittrice nel contesto storico del Portogallo colonialista e post-rivoluzionario in cui nasce e vive e alla luce del quale si farà l’analisi della sua produzione letteraria, prendendo come esempio il suo primo grande successo editoriale, O retorno, e uno degli ultimi romanzi pubblicati, Eliete, a vida normal. Dopo una riflessione sulle mutazioni della società odierna, trasversali alla realtà europea, trasposti in una prosa che ha destato grande interesse anche in Italia, si passerà all’analisi comparativa di alcuni brani di quelle opere dell’autrice, tradotte in Italiano. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il traduttore italiano di Dulce Maria Cardoso, Daniele Petruccioli.
III – Trasposizione filmica e laboratorio di traduzione L’ultimo modulo sarà dedicato al cinema. Dopo una riflessione sul cinema come “traduzione” di un testo letterario, con la lettura di testi teorici e l’analisi di esempi di trasposizione filmica, gli studenti avranno l’occasione di contattare con la sceneggiatura originale dell’ultimo documentario del regista portoghese José Paulo Santos – 1965, PANREAL UM EDIFÍCIO DE NADIR AFONSO (Prémio Augusta come miglior documentario al 19º di BragaCine (Festival Internacional de Cinema Independente de Braga) – al fine del suo sottotitolaggio. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il regista e la proiezione dei tre cortometraggi sottotitolati dagli studenti del DISTU dell’A.A. 2017-18.

“Adapting Narrative Modes”: Linguistic and discursive patterns in contemporary TV Series and Cinema. The course aims to develop students' competence at a Master’s level in the linguistic/discursive field of audio-visual contemporary narratives. The following issues will be specifically examined: a) evolution of Cinema and TV series language (comparative analysis of screening/broadcasting modalities within TV series and Cinema communication model, characters of contemporary forms, development peculiarities); b) adaptation as intersemiotic translation and as privileged expressive modality of contemporary TV and cinema narratives. Furthermore, concerning the Dublin descriptors, the aim is to develop:
1) Knowledge and Understanding at a Master’s level of analytical and methodological research tools. In particular, the linguistic and discursive analysis will be focused – with a multidisciplinary approach – on a) the development of TV Fiction and Cinema linguistic and textual model, b) the adaptation of literary text in its TV series, and Cinema transpositions and analysis of the relative translation processes and issues.
2) Applying Knowledge and Understanding to linguistic-discursive analysis, translation studies (inter-semiotic translation in particular), and individual and/or group presentation within the above-mentioned research domains. 3) Making Judgements: developing skills to select and research relevant texts and processes (to verify their peculiarities and features) in the field of linguistic-discursive analysis and translation adaptations, particularly in the area of transposition from literary text to TV Series and Cinema, of related modalities of access as well as in the area of reception evaluation; developing skills to evaluate criticism on these issues, and to evaluate their analysis and research. 4) Communication Skills aimed at the entire understanding of the texts analyzed in the course, of those listed in the bibliography of the course, of notions and methodology needed for communicative interaction during individual/group presentations. 5) Learning Skills: acquisition of a specific competence in the field of a) the field of linguistic-discursive analysis in contemporary TV Series and Cinema; of TV and Cinema adaptations as intersemiotic translation practice. Developing skills in Public Speaking to present group and/or individual works on the issues mentioned above.

Programa: Objeto del curso es el estudio crítico de las Novelas ejemplares de M. de Cervantes, contextualizadas en la literatura áurea española. Se enfocarán los principales temas, influjos y referencias; la construcción narrativa y su relación con la prosa de ficción de la época.
Resultados del aprendizaje: A través de los contenidos de las dos partes descritas anteriormente el estudiante podrá conocer las características de la literatura española del Siglo de oro, y de una manera más detenida la contribución cervantina a la narrativa moderna. Para la lectura y el comentario del texto elegidos se utilizan ensayos críticos que permiten captar las complejas facetas de los libros propuestos.

Gli studi lusitanistici a Viterbo, di lunga tradizione e riconosciuti meriti scientifici, hanno sempre prediletto, come una delle sue linee di ricerca, la questione di GENERE: dalla figura femminile nella lirica trobadorica alla produzione letteraria conventuale del XVII secolo, proseguendo poi, attraverso alcuni casi esemplari in epoca moderna, fino alla piena affermazione della donna nella Contemporaneità letteraria. Dentro di un piano organico di studi, che permette di accompagnare l’evoluzione delle idee e la sua espressione artistica, gli studenti sono stati guidati, dall’inizio dei suoi studi di letteratura di espressione portoghese, in un percorso alternativo e di indubbio interesse, guidato da questa fortissima matrice culturale lusitana, che la poetessa Natália Correia (1923-1993) ha definito esemplarmente nella espressione «il Portogallo è MATRIA», in contrasto al concetto di patria. Nel proseguimento e sviluppo di questa stessa linea, il corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II, propone agli studenti di LINGUE E CULTURE PER LA COMUNICAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE (LM-37), nel primo semestre del A.A. 2022-2023, la figura letteraria e umana di FERNANDA DE CASTRO (1901-1994), come artista poliedrica dalla notevole produzione scritta e come protagonista di un’epoca storica e culturale di grande interesse. Un approccio biografico sarà provato attraverso i brani diaristici della sua prosa memoriale (modulo I), e saranno scelti tre esempi illustrativi della sua opera variegata – poesia (modulo II), narrativa (modulo III) e narrativa infantile (modulo IV).

The course provides students with basic knowledge of the EU legal system. It is divided into three parts. The first part includes: an introduction to the historical setting of the European Integration, the description of the institutional structure of the EU, its legal sources and the main features of its decision-making process. It starts with an introduction, which focuses on the integration process through the modification of the treaties and the enlargement. It highlights the peculiarities of the European Union as a legal order and a “community of law”, with respect to the phenomenon of international organization. Then, the European institutional framework is examined, taking into account the relation between the Institutions and the principles guiding their interaction. The toolkit adopted by the Union to overcome the democratic deficit is illustrated, including the decision-making procedures for the adoption of EU acts. Then, the course focuses on the principles which regulate the attribution and the exercise of EU competences and the forms of differentiated application. The hierarchy, the features and functioning of EU sources is then introduced and explained in its relations with domestic law. The second part is devoted to the enforcement of EU law vis-à-vis the Union, the Member States, and individuals. The notions of primacy, autonomy and direct effect of EU law are widely investigated, alongside the modalities for the implementation of EU law in national legal orders, in particular in Italy. It also gives an account of the functioning of the judicial system of the EU, focusing on the functions of the European Court of Justice in its dialogue with national judges. The third part is devoted to substantive matters, relating to the protection of fundamental rights and the role of the EU Charter, the European citizenship and freedom of circulation within the EU.

I . Pier Paolo Pasolini in Portogallo Durante la prima parte del corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II gli studenti avranno modo di ri-conoscere l’autore italiano attraverso il modo come la sua opera è stata ricevuta in Portogallo, attraverso le sue prime traduzioni portoghesi – narrativa, saggio, poesia – e il modo in cui la Critica portoghese e la Comunità artistica hanno reagito alla figura umana e politica e all’opera sfaccettata del “poeta dietro alla macchina da presa”. Verrà affrontata la complessa questione del linguaggio dialettale, tanto caro a Pasolini, e si passerà all’analisi del modo in cui i traduttori portoghesi hanno trasposto per una lingua altra (peraltro senza una forte presenza di dialetti) aspetti idiosincratici delle periferie romane e della vita del subproletariato urbano della capitale italiana. Il modo concluderà con l’analisi di alcune poesie portoghesi in cui Pasolini è direttamente citato, di cui si cercherà di proporre una traduzione e con l’incontro con il poeta Ricardo Marques, uno degli autori presi in studio.
II – Dulce Maria Cardoso in Italia
Introduzione alla figura di una delle voci più notevoli dell’attuale panorama delle Lettere portoghesi: Dulce Maria Cardoso. Attraverso la lettura di articoli e interviste si cercherà di situare la scrittrice nel contesto storico del Portogallo colonialista e post-rivoluzionario in cui nasce e vive e alla luce del quale si farà l’analisi della sua produzione letteraria, prendendo come esempio il suo primo grande successo editoriale, O retorno, e uno degli ultimi romanzi pubblicati, Eliete, a vida normal. Dopo una riflessione sulle mutazioni della società odierna, trasversali alla realtà europea, trasposti in una prosa che ha destato grande interesse anche in Italia, si passerà all’analisi comparativa di alcuni brani di quelle opere dell’autrice, tradotte in Italiano. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il traduttore italiano di Dulce Maria Cardoso, Daniele Petruccioli.
III – Trasposizione filmica e laboratorio di traduzione L’ultimo modulo sarà dedicato al cinema. Dopo una riflessione sul cinema come “traduzione” di un testo letterario, con la lettura di testi teorici e l’analisi di esempi di trasposizione filmica, gli studenti avranno l’occasione di contattare con la sceneggiatura originale dell’ultimo documentario del regista portoghese José Paulo Santos – 1965, PANREAL UM EDIFÍCIO DE NADIR AFONSO (Prémio Augusta come miglior documentario al 19º di BragaCine (Festival Internacional de Cinema Independente de Braga) – al fine del suo sottotitolaggio. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il regista e la proiezione dei tre cortometraggi sottotitolati dagli studenti del DISTU dell’A.A. 2017-18.

“Adapting Narrative Modes”: Linguistic and discursive patterns in contemporary TV Series and Cinema. The course aims to develop students' competence at a Master’s level in the linguistic/discursive field of audio-visual contemporary narratives. The following issues will be specifically examined: a) evolution of Cinema and TV series language (comparative analysis of screening/broadcasting modalities within TV series and Cinema communication model, characters of contemporary forms, development peculiarities); b) adaptation as intersemiotic translation and as privileged expressive modality of contemporary TV and cinema narratives. Furthermore, concerning the Dublin descriptors, the aim is to develop:

“Que yo soy el primero que he novelado en lengua castellana”: lectura crítica de las Novelas ejemplares de M. de Cervantes
Programa: Objeto del curso es el estudio crítico de las Novelas ejemplares de M. de Cervantes, contextualizadas en la literatura áurea española. Se enfocarán los principales temas, influjos y referencias; la construcción narrativa y su relación con la prosa de ficción de la época.
Resultados del aprendizaje: A través de los contenidos de las dos partes descritas anteriormente el estudiante podrá conocer las características de la literatura española del Siglo de oro, y de una manera más detenida la contribución cervantina a la narrativa moderna. Para la lectura y el comentario del texto elegidos se utilizan ensayos críticos que permiten captar las complejas facetas de los libros propuestos.

Gli studi lusitanistici a Viterbo, di lunga tradizione e riconosciuti meriti scientifici, hanno sempre prediletto, come una delle sue linee di ricerca, la questione di GENERE: dalla figura femminile nella lirica trobadorica alla produzione letteraria conventuale del XVII secolo, proseguendo poi, attraverso alcuni casi esemplari in epoca moderna, fino alla piena affermazione della donna nella Contemporaneità letteraria. Dentro di un piano organico di studi, che permette di accompagnare l’evoluzione delle idee e la sua espressione artistica, gli studenti sono stati guidati, dall’inizio dei suoi studi di letteratura di espressione portoghese, in un percorso alternativo e di indubbio interesse, guidato da questa fortissima matrice culturale lusitana, che la poetessa Natália Correia (1923-1993) ha definito esemplarmente nella espressione «il Portogallo è MATRIA», in contrasto al concetto di patria. Nel proseguimento e sviluppo di questa stessa linea, il corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II, propone agli studenti di LINGUE E CULTURE PER LA COMUNICAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE (LM-37), nel primo semestre del A.A. 2022-2023, la figura letteraria e umana di FERNANDA DE CASTRO (1901-1994), come artista poliedrica dalla notevole produzione scritta e come protagonista di un’epoca storica e culturale di grande interesse. Un approccio biografico sarà provato attraverso i brani diaristici della sua prosa memoriale (modulo I), e saranno scelti tre esempi illustrativi della sua opera variegata – poesia (modulo II), narrativa (modulo III) e narrativa infantile (modulo IV).

At the end of the course, students will have to: reach the level of linguistic competence envisaged for the two years (1st year attainment of level C1; 2nd year attainment of level C2) demonstrate a good knowledge of the variants of American Spanish (also relating to uses, customs and social codes) have developed good translation skills.

I . Pier Paolo Pasolini in Portogallo Durante la prima parte del corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II gli studenti avranno modo di ri-conoscere l’autore italiano attraverso il modo come la sua opera è stata ricevuta in Portogallo, attraverso le sue prime traduzioni portoghesi – narrativa, saggio, poesia – e il modo in cui la Critica portoghese e la Comunità artistica hanno reagito alla figura umana e politica e all’opera sfaccettata del “poeta dietro alla macchina da presa”. Verrà affrontata la complessa questione del linguaggio dialettale, tanto caro a Pasolini, e si passerà all’analisi del modo in cui i traduttori portoghesi hanno trasposto per una lingua altra (peraltro senza una forte presenza di dialetti) aspetti idiosincratici delle periferie romane e della vita del subproletariato urbano della capitale italiana. Il modo concluderà con l’analisi di alcune poesie portoghesi in cui Pasolini è direttamente citato, di cui si cercherà di proporre una traduzione e con l’incontro con il poeta Ricardo Marques, uno degli autori presi in studio.
II – Dulce Maria Cardoso in Italia
Introduzione alla figura di una delle voci più notevoli dell’attuale panorama delle Lettere portoghesi: Dulce Maria Cardoso. Attraverso la lettura di articoli e interviste si cercherà di situare la scrittrice nel contesto storico del Portogallo colonialista e post-rivoluzionario in cui nasce e vive e alla luce del quale si farà l’analisi della sua produzione letteraria, prendendo come esempio il suo primo grande successo editoriale, O retorno, e uno degli ultimi romanzi pubblicati, Eliete, a vida normal. Dopo una riflessione sulle mutazioni della società odierna, trasversali alla realtà europea, trasposti in una prosa che ha destato grande interesse anche in Italia, si passerà all’analisi comparativa di alcuni brani di quelle opere dell’autrice, tradotte in Italiano. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il traduttore italiano di Dulce Maria Cardoso, Daniele Petruccioli.
III – Trasposizione filmica e laboratorio di traduzione L’ultimo modulo sarà dedicato al cinema. Dopo una riflessione sul cinema come “traduzione” di un testo letterario, con la lettura di testi teorici e l’analisi di esempi di trasposizione filmica, gli studenti avranno l’occasione di contattare con la sceneggiatura originale dell’ultimo documentario del regista portoghese José Paulo Santos – 1965, PANREAL UM EDIFÍCIO DE NADIR AFONSO (Prémio Augusta come miglior documentario al 19º di BragaCine (Festival Internacional de Cinema Independente de Braga) – al fine del suo sottotitolaggio. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il regista e la proiezione dei tre cortometraggi sottotitolati dagli studenti del DISTU dell’A.A. 2017-18.

“Adapting Narrative Modes”: Linguistic and discursive patterns in contemporary TV Series and Cinema. The course aims to develop students' competence at a Master’s level in the linguistic/discursive field of audio-visual contemporary narratives. The following issues will be specifically examined: a) evolution of Cinema and TV series language (comparative analysis of screening/broadcasting modalities within TV series and Cinema communication model, characters of contemporary forms, development peculiarities); b) adaptation as intersemiotic translation and as privileged expressive modality of contemporary TV and cinema narratives. Furthermore, concerning the Dublin descriptors, the aim is to develop:
1) Knowledge and Understanding at a Master’s level of analytical and methodological research tools. In particular, the linguistic and discursive analysis will be focused – with a multidisciplinary approach – on a) the development of TV Fiction and Cinema linguistic and textual model, b) the adaptation of literary text in its TV series, and Cinema transpositions and analysis of the relative translation processes and issues.
2) Applying Knowledge and Understanding to linguistic-discursive analysis, translation studies (inter-semiotic translation in particular), and individual and/or group presentation within the above-mentioned research domains. 3) Making Judgements: developing skills to select and research relevant texts and processes (to verify their peculiarities and features) in the field of linguistic-discursive analysis and translation adaptations, particularly in the area of transposition from literary text to TV Series and Cinema, of related modalities of access as well as in the area of reception evaluation; developing skills to evaluate criticism on these issues, and to evaluate their analysis and research. 4) Communication Skills aimed at the entire understanding of the texts analyzed in the course, of those listed in the bibliography of the course, of notions and methodology needed for communicative interaction during individual/group presentations. 5) Learning Skills: acquisition of a specific competence in the field of a) the field of linguistic-discursive analysis in contemporary TV Series and Cinema; of TV and Cinema adaptations as intersemiotic translation practice. The purpose of this course is to provide students with advanced knowledge in the field of language teaching. In the first, more general module of the course, an introduction to applied linguistics and an overview of its fields of investigation will be provided. The second, more specific module, focuses on vocabulary learning and teaching; it will be shown how contemporary approaches to lexical semantics can help implement more effective methods of teaching lexical phenomena like polysemy, homonymy, metaphors, idioms.

The aim of this course is to show, both from a theoretical and pragmatic point of view, the "re-mediation" made by the computational tool of the idea of the book. Examples of digital editions will be analyzed, starting from the electronic book to electronic scholarly editions, with a strong emphasis both on the document-centric aspect, represented by the text encoding and in particular by the language of the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI), and on the datacentric one, represented by relational databases and the Semantic Web. Then tools for the analysis of the literary text and the representation of primary sources will be presented and analyzed. The course provides students with basic knowledge of the EU legal system. It is divided into three parts. The first part includes: an introduction to the historical setting of the European Integration, the description of the institutional structure of the EU, its legal sources and the main features of its decision-making process. It starts with an introduction, which focuses on the integration process through the modification of the treaties and the enlargement. It highlights the peculiarities of the European Union as a legal order and a “community of law”, with respect to the phenomenon of international organization. Then, the European institutional framework is examined, taking into account the relation between the Institutions and the principles guiding their interaction. The toolkit adopted by the Union to overcome the democratic deficit is illustrated, including the decision-making procedures for the adoption of EU acts. Then, the course focuses on the principles which regulate the attribution and the exercise of EU competences and the forms of differentiated application. The hierarchy, the features and functioning of EU sources is then introduced and explained in its relations with domestic law. The second part is devoted to the enforcement of EU law vis-à-vis the Union, the Member States, and individuals. The notions of primacy, autonomy and direct effect of EU law are widely investigated, alongside the modalities for the implementation of EU law in national legal orders, in particular in Italy. It also gives an account of the functioning of the judicial system of the EU, focusing on the functions of the European Court of Justice in its dialogue with national judges. The third part is devoted to substantive matters, relating to the protection of fundamental rights and the role of the EU Charter, the European citizenship and freedom of circulation within the EU.

I . Pier Paolo Pasolini in Portogallo Durante la prima parte del corso di LINGUA E TRADUZIONE PORTOGHESE E BRASILIANA I e II gli studenti avranno modo di ri-conoscere l’autore italiano attraverso il modo come la sua opera è stata ricevuta in Portogallo, attraverso le sue prime traduzioni portoghesi – narrativa, saggio, poesia – e il modo in cui la Critica portoghese e la Comunità artistica hanno reagito alla figura umana e politica e all’opera sfaccettata del “poeta dietro alla macchina da presa”. Verrà affrontata la complessa questione del linguaggio dialettale, tanto caro a Pasolini, e si passerà all’analisi del modo in cui i traduttori portoghesi hanno trasposto per una lingua altra (peraltro senza una forte presenza di dialetti) aspetti idiosincratici delle periferie romane e della vita del subproletariato urbano della capitale italiana. Il modo concluderà con l’analisi di alcune poesie portoghesi in cui Pasolini è direttamente citato, di cui si cercherà di proporre una traduzione e con l’incontro con il poeta Ricardo Marques, uno degli autori presi in studio.
II – Dulce Maria Cardoso in Italia
Introduzione alla figura di una delle voci più notevoli dell’attuale panorama delle Lettere portoghesi: Dulce Maria Cardoso. Attraverso la lettura di articoli e interviste si cercherà di situare la scrittrice nel contesto storico del Portogallo colonialista e post-rivoluzionario in cui nasce e vive e alla luce del quale si farà l’analisi della sua produzione letteraria, prendendo come esempio il suo primo grande successo editoriale, O retorno, e uno degli ultimi romanzi pubblicati, Eliete, a vida normal. Dopo una riflessione sulle mutazioni della società odierna, trasversali alla realtà europea, trasposti in una prosa che ha destato grande interesse anche in Italia, si passerà all’analisi comparativa di alcuni brani di quelle opere dell’autrice, tradotte in Italiano. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il traduttore italiano di Dulce Maria Cardoso, Daniele Petruccioli.
III – Trasposizione filmica e laboratorio di traduzione L’ultimo modulo sarà dedicato al cinema. Dopo una riflessione sul cinema come “traduzione” di un testo letterario, con la lettura di testi teorici e l’analisi di esempi di trasposizione filmica, gli studenti avranno l’occasione di contattare con la sceneggiatura originale dell’ultimo documentario del regista portoghese José Paulo Santos – 1965, PANREAL UM EDIFÍCIO DE NADIR AFONSO (Prémio Augusta come miglior documentario al 19º di BragaCine (Festival Internacional de Cinema Independente de Braga) – al fine del suo sottotitolaggio. Il modulo si chiuderà con l’incontro con il regista e la proiezione dei tre cortometraggi sottotitolati dagli studenti del DISTU dell’A.A. 2017-18.

The course is an in-depth study of the knowledge of the History of Early Modern Art acquired during the Bachelor course. The themes proposed each time focus on specific aspects, areas and chronologies. In this way, students will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of a segment of the discipline, either in terms of single works of art or monumental complexes, or from the bibliographical point of view. The latter aspect aims at developing argumentative skills, critical reflections, in particular concerning the bibliography, in order to develop a critical spirit and autonomy of judgement, essential elements to move from study to research. The critical approach to the works of art and to their bibliography will also allow the acquisition of specialized terminology and the consequent development of communication skills. The in-depth studies, which will be developed through presentations in the classroom and subsequently in written papers, may eventually be developed in the master's thesis.

“Adapting Narrative Modes”: Linguistic and discursive patterns in contemporary TV Series and Cinema. The course aims to develop students' competence at a Master’s level in the linguistic/discursive field of audio-visual contemporary narratives. The following issues will be specifically examined: a) evolution of Cinema and TV series language (comparative analysis of screening/broadcasting modalities within TV series and Cinema communication model, characters of contemporary forms, development peculiarities); b) adaptation as intersemiotic translation and as privileged expressive modality of contemporary TV and cinema narratives. Furthermore, concerning the Dublin descriptors, the aim is to develop:
1) Knowledge and Understanding at a Master’s level of analytical and methodological research tools. In particular, the linguistic and discursive analysis will be focused – with a multidisciplinary approach – on a) the development of TV Fiction and Cinema linguistic and textual model, b) the adaptation of literary text in its TV series, and Cinema transpositions and analysis of the relative translation processes and issues.
2) Applying Knowledge and Understanding to linguistic-discursive analysis, translation studies (inter-semiotic translation in particular), and individual and/or group presentation within the above-mentioned research domains. 3) Making Judgements: developing skills to select and research relevant texts and processes (to verify their peculiarities and features) in the field of linguistic-discursive analysis and translation adaptations, particularly in the area of transposition from literary text to TV Series and Cinema, of related modalities of access as well as in the area of reception evaluation; developing skills to evaluate criticism on these issues, and to evaluate their analysis and research. 4) Communication Skills aimed at the entire understanding of the texts analyzed in the course, of those listed in the bibliography of the course, of notions and methodology needed for communicative interaction during individual/group presentations. 5) Learning Skills: acquisition of a specific competence in the field of a) the field of linguistic-discursive analysis in contemporary TV Series and Cinema; of TV and Cinema adaptations as intersemiotic translation practice. Developing skills in Public Speaking to present group and/or individual works on the issues mentioned above.
