The detailed program is as follows: - Fundamentals of measurements: metrology, statistics and uncertainty - Measurements of current, voltage and resistance - Materials, electronic configuration, electrical properties; Materials of P and N types: effects of impurities on conduction, majority and minority characters; PN junction in a semiconductor, development of a potential across a PN junction in non-polarized conditions, polarized in forward and reverse biased; Diode parameters: peak reverse voltage, maximum forward current, temperature, frequency, leakage current, power dissipation; Use and operation of diodes in the following circuits: limiter, smoother, full wave rectifiers and half-wave, bridge rectifiers, voltage doublers and triplers; Details of the operation and characteristics of the following devices: silicon controlled rectifier (thyristor), light emitting diode, Schottky diode, photoconductor diode, variable capacitance diode, varistor, diodes rectifiers, Zener diode. - Structure and function of PNP and NPN transistors; Basic, collector and emitter configurations; Testing transistors; Basic evaluation of other types of transistors and their uses. Application of transistors: amplifier classes (A, B, C); Simple circuits: bias, decoupling, feedback and stabilization; Principles of multistage circuits: cascade circuits, push-pull, oscillators, multivibrators, flip-flops;
