The course aims to provide students with knowledge about the role of agriculture in the context of rural areas and to learn the policies to support rural development. Specifically, the course aims to provide the ability to use economic and political information and data, in order to understand the logics underlying rural development and the interactions between farms and territories. The theoretical part will be accompanied by practical exercises with the active involvement of the students. At the end of the course the student must be able to analyze economic and political information and data regarding farms in the context of rural areas and from the perspective of sustainable development.
In the written paper the student will have to demonstrate critical and judgment skills especially with regard to economic and political aspects of rural development. In the oral presentation, the student will have to demonstrate the ability to communicate and transmit what has been learned.
