(syllabus)
The aim of the course is introducing in the strategies, the methods and the sources of the medieval archaeology, with reference to urban archaeology, archaeology of landscapes, archaeology of productions and commerces, from 6th to 15th cent. More specifically, the program will address issues related to urban archaeology (analysis of the transformations of the city from late antiquity to the communal age), the archaeology of rural settlements, castles and fortified sites, cemeteries and burials, monuments and rock settlements and the archaeology of production.
