Give knowledge on qualitative and quantitative elements on the cytology and physiology of the animal cell, on its intracellular and extracellular compartments, interactions with the environment, formation of tissues. Give basal knowledge of cell cultures and their scale-up. Give basal knowledge of humoral and cellular immunity common to all animal species, including mammals. Acquired knowledge will allow a critical evaluation on the use of cells and tissues in a biotechnology environment.
