(syllabus)
This course in Political Science will attempt to interrogate two opposing events in today's contemporary society, which are internal to the horizon that was established with the 1990s, namely "neoliberal globalisation". Firstly, the condition of permanent war, with a particular focus on the current war in Ukraine, and secondly, the first democratic attempt to overcome the neoliberal horizon that recently took place in Chile (2019-2022). All this will be placed in the context of the epoch-making event of the 'disappearance of politics', and the need for its rethinking.
Required books: 1) Emanuele Profumi e Alfonso Maurizio Iacono "Ripensare la politica. Immagini del possibile e dell'alterità", Ets, Pisa 2019. 2) Mark Fisher "Realismo capitalista", Not, Roma 2018.
Other books: 1) Emanuele Profumi, "Cile, il futuro già viene", Prospero, Milano 2020. 2) Cornelius Castoriadis, "L'istituzione immaginaria della società", trad.
