1) Examples of structural adaptations to the ecological niche: Mouthparts; respiratory system; locomotory organs; defensory systems. 2) Interactions between different organisms: Insects and plants: coevolution; phytophagy; insects and the reproductive biology of the plants; insects living in specialized structures of the plants. Predation and parasitism in insects: Localisation of the prey/the host; acceptation and manipulation of the prey/the host; selection and specifity of the prey/the host; evolutionary success of predatory and parasitic insects. 3) Insects and ecosystems: Insects of the litter and the soil; insects and dead trees or decomposing wood; insects and excrements; insects and carcasses; insects and fungi; cavernicolous insects. Methods of sampling.
