(syllabus)
With regard to the linguistic part, the vocabulary and registers (functional styles) of Russian will be studied in depth, as well as a reflection on the morphosyntax of Russian which integrates with previous linguistic knowledge. Regarding the cultural-historical-literary and literary theory part: - Soviet science fiction, with particular regard to the figure and work of Aleksandr Beljaev; the Italian translations of Soviet science fiction (prof. A. Cifariello); - Russian Concept of Space through Arts: The cultural background of Russian expansion and imperialism (prof. A. Kulik); - Arkadij and Boris Strugackij as (Screen) writers: Adaptation of Soviet Science Fiction Novels in Film; the metaphors of “ZONA” in Soviet science fiction, based on the Strugackij brothers’ novels; Russian language in soviet science fiction works (prof. E. Lapina-Kratasyuk).
About prof. A. Kulik's "Russian Space through Arts":
We will revise Russian geography as a formative factor of Russian civilization as well as an object of reflection within Russian culture. Using poetry, paintings, music and film we will raise the questions of Russian history, politics, identity and creativity in their connections to Russia’s territory, climate and landscape.
