The main purpose of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge of history of art exhibition's between XVII century and 1930 with a discussion on contemporary examples. This art exhibition's history will be related to historical context of museums for a basic knowledge of italian cultural heritage history.
Expected learning outcomes. At the end of the course students will be able to:
1) Knowledge and understanding: during the lessons students will have to briefly know the development of the history of exhibitions and museums, starting from Italy, to extend to those in Europe and the United States of America.
2) Applied knowledge and understanding: through classroom debate and individual study, students will have to know and distinguish the different types of exhibitions and installations adopted over the centuries up to the present time.
3) Autonomy of judgment: students must be able to evaluate the different meanings assumed in Museology of international terminology with respect to the concepts formulated historically in Italy, arriving at the formulation of autonomous judgments.
4) Communication skills: students will have to be able to present with an appropriate language, also making use of slide or multimedia presentations, the topics examined in relation to the historical context of reference.
5) Ability to learn: students will have to acquire the ability to autonomously illustrate and interpret cases of works of art on display, museum institutions or exhibition events examined during the lessons and inspections carried out in groups or individually during the course.
