(syllabus)
The course provides students with theoretical and methodological knowledge and best practices on Economic-Political Geography. Through a multi-sectoral and multi-scalar analysis typical of the subject, the course intends to offer useful tools to analyse international geopolitical and geo-economic scenarios by linking geographical, political ed economic factors with environmental, energy, cultural and social ones. The main areas of study of the course concern first of all human geography in its effects on international relations, the theory and practice of the geopolitical action of sovereign states and supranational bodies, with specific attention to the causes, consequences and possible solutions of the numerous global crises, such as the protection of the environment, security, energy sources, foods and migratory crises.
