The course aims to provide advanced econometrics tools in order to perform analysis of statistical data related to economic phenomena Knowledge and understanding The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to econometrics. The course introduces univariate and multivariate regression analysis and proposes some insights and extensions of the basic model. Through the course of Econometrics, the student will learn the basic econometric techniques to be applied to economic data. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding At the end of the course, through lectures and theoretical and practical exercises in which the Statistico R software is used, the student will be able to manage databases with which to estimate the parameters of economic models, subject these models to tests, predict economic variables, and finally conduct an economic analysis.
Autonomy of judgement At the end of the course the student will be able to develop autonomously econometric analyses and models in order to describe, measure, collect and interpret economic data for the study of specific situations. Communication skills At the end of the course the student will have acquired the basic knowledge to understand the nature and interpret the relationships between the various statistical phenomena in the field of business economics. The student will be able to argue effectively the choice of the model adopted and the econometric techniques most appropriate to the type of problem analyzed. Learning ability At the end of the course, the student will have acquired the basic econometric tools for the processing of economic data. These competences will be useful to continue the studies, to face more advanced courses of econometrics or to face autonomously the quantitative analysis that could be required in more advanced courses.
