(syllabus)
This module of Digital and ICT skills is divided in three parts that focus respectively on the use of word processing and word processing programs, information retrieval via the Internet, and argumentative writing:
- the first part is about the the skills required to write a structured Word document, specifically using the Master Document, styles and bibliographic citation features (contact the professor for a list of resources related to these topics). - The second part focuses on citation styles and the use of databases for bibliographic research; the reference text is Andrea Capaccioni, Ricerche bibliografiche. Banche dati e biblioteche in rete, Maggioli editore 2018. - the third and final part has as its subject argumentative writing, the use of logical procedures and the most appropriate rhetorical and communicative strategies to effectively structure and convey the contents of the thesis. The reference text for this module is Marco Santambrogio, Manuale di scrittura non creativa, Laterza 2008 (alternatively, students may opt for Giovanni Boniolo, Paolo Vidali, Strumenti per ragionare. Logica e teoria dell'argomentazione, Bruno Mondadori 2011).
