(syllabus)
The program provides the analysis of the following contents: disciplinary field, sociological theories and researches, pre-modern and modern society in Western world, social structures and social systems, cultures, forms of actions and social interactions, groups, associations, organizations and institutions, social roles, values, cultures, identity and socialization, deviance and criminality, post-modern society in Western world.
The program includes also a 12 hours (4 days) workshop dedicated to the gender-based violence. The workshop is part of the activities provided by the project "STEP - Stereotipo e Pregiudizio. Per un cambiamento culturale nella rappresentazione di genere in ambito giudiziario, nelle forze dell’ordine e nel racconto dei media" coordinated by Prof. Flaminia Saccà. The workshop will deal with 4 main topics: - The definition of gender-based violence; - The analysis of the national and international laws to contrast violence against women; - The representation of gender-based violence in the judicial language; - The representation of gender-based violence in the media.
