The aim of the course is to provide the theoretical and applied knowledge for the planning and ecological management of the forest area with particular reference to forest management plans, forest fire prevention plans and park plans. The major strategical themes of forest planning are also addressed in relation to the challenges of sustainable development and in particular to the major themes of the role of forests in mitigating climate change and conserving biodiversity as well as in the related Agenda 2030 objectives.
