(syllabus)
The purpose of this course is to provide students with basic knowledge in the field of language teaching. The first module of the course addresses the core principles of language learning and teaching; it provides a historical overview of educational theory and explores current theories, methodologies and issues for the teaching of languages. The second module focuses on the teaching of Languages for Specific Purposes (LSP); it provides an introduction to various theoretical and practical aspects of teaching LSP and a detailed description of the specific (lexical, syntactic, textual, pragmatic) features of technical-scientific Italian compared to general Italian.
