Curricukum vitae - Italiano Roberta Bernini si è laureata in Chimica nel 1992 con la votazione di 110/110 e lode presso l’Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza. Nel 1998 ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Scienze Ambientali presso l’Università degli Studi della Tuscia di Viterbo. Nel 1998/1999 ha usufruito di una borsa di studio finanziata dal Consorzio Interuniversitario La Chimica per l’Ambiente (INCA). Nel 2002 ha preso servizio come Ricercatore di Chimica Organica (SSD CHIM/06) presso la Facoltà di Scienze Matematiche Fisiche e Naturali dell’Università degli Studi della Tuscia. Nel 2004 ha conseguito il titolo di Specialista in Chimica e Tecnologia delle Sostanze Organiche Naturali presso l’Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza. Dal 2011 afferisce al Dipartimento di Scienze Agrarie e Forestali (DAFNE) dell’Università degli Studi della Tuscia dove dal 2015 è Professore Associato di Chimica Organica (SSD CHIM/06). Nel 2018 ha conseguito l’Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale a Professore di I Fascia di Chimica Organica (SSD CHIM/06). Dal 1993 al 2009 è stata componente dell'Unità di Ricerca del Consorzio Interuniversitario La Chimica per L’Ambiente (INCA). Dal 2015 è afferente al Consorzio Interuniversitario Nazionale per la Scienza e Tecnologia dei Materiali (INSTM). Dall’AA 2003/2004 all’AA 2012/2013 è stata componente del Collegio dei Docenti del Corso di Dottorato di Ricerca in Scienze Ambientali presso l’Università degli Studi della Tuscia (DM 224/99). Dall’AA 2013/2014 è componente del Collegio dei Docenti del Corso di Dottorato di Ricerca in Scienze delle Produzioni Vegetali e Animali presso l’Università degli Studi della Tuscia (DM 45/2013). Dall'AA 2018/2019 all’AA 2024/2025 è stata Coordinatrice del Corso di Dottorato di Ricerca in Scienze delle Produzioni Vegetali e Animali. Ha partecipato a numerosi progetti di ricerca assegnati su base competitiva (PRIN 1995, PRIN 1998, PRIN 2000, FIRB 2003, PRIN 2005, PRIN 2008, FIRB 2008, PRIN 2012, AGER 2016). Dal 2018 ad oggi fa parte dell’Unità di Ricerca del Progetto MIUR Dipartimenti di Eccellenza assegnato al DAFNE. Dal 2017 al 2023 è stata responsabile scientifico dell’Unità di Ricerca dell’Università della Tuscia nell'ambito del PRIN 2017. Attualmente è responsabile scientifico di progetti di ricerca finanziati dalla Regione Lazio. E’ responsabile scientifico di varie convenzioni di ricerca e di accordi di ricerca con università ed enti di ricerca e supervisore di tesisti, borsisti, dottorandi ed assegnisti di ricerca. E’ revisore di numerose riviste internazionali indicizzate dalle banche dati Scopus e Web of Science. Dal 2012 al 2017 è stata componente dell’Editorial Board della rivista Current Green Chemistry (Bentham Science Publishers). Dal 2018 è componente dell’Editorial Board della rivista Natural Product Research (Taylor & Francis). Dal 2020 al 2022 è stata Guest Editor della rivista dello Nutrients (MPDI). Dal 2022 è componente dell’Editorial Board della rivista Antioxidants (MPDI). Dal 1993 ad oggi è componente della Società Chimica Italiana. Dal 2014 al 2019 è stata componente del Consiglio Direttivo della Società Chimica Italiana, Sezione Lazio. Dal 2000 ad oggi è componenente del Groupe Polyphenols (Francia). Dal 2020 è componenente dell’Accademia Nazionale dell’Olivo e dell’Olio come "Accademico Corrispondente" e dal 2024 come "Accademico Ordinario". L’attività di ricerca è focalizzata sulla progettazione e sviluppo di nuove molecole biologicamente attive (antiossidanti, antimicrobici, antinfiammatori, antitumorali) con metodologie sintetiche di chimica verde; sulla preparazione e caratterizzazione di estratti naturali da matrici vegetali di interesse in campo agronomico, alimentare, cosmetico e farmaceutico; sulla valorizzazione e riuso di molecole presenti negli scarti agroindustriali per la produzione di molecole ad elevato valore aggiunto, in accordo con i principi della chimica verde e dell’economia circolare. Dall'AA 2011/2012 afferisce al Dipartimento di Scienze Agrarie e Forestali (DAFNE) dove sostiene l’intero carico didattico del SSD CHIM/06 con gli insegnamenti di "Chimica Organica ed Elementi di Chimica Generale" per i Corsi di Laurea Triennali in Scienze Agrarie e Ambientali, Gestione Sostenibile delle Foreste e del Verde Urbano; di "Chimica Organica per il Corso di Laurea Professionalizzante in Produzione Sementiera e Vivaismo; di Chimica delle Sostanze Organiche Naturali" per il Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Biotecnologie per la Sicurezza e la Qualità Agro-Alimentare; di "Chemistry of Natural Organic Products" per la Laurea Magistrale Internazionale in Plant Biotechnology for Food and Global Hearth. Presso l’Università della Tuscia ha svolto e svolge tuttora incarichi accademici nell’ambito della Ricerca Scientifica di Ateneo e del DAFNE. Dal 2009 al 2015 è stata componente della Commissione Ricerca Scientifica di Ateneo in rappresentanza dei Ricercatori della macroarea tecnico-scientifica. Dal 2012 al 2014 è stata Referente del Direttore del DAFNE, Prof. Leonardo Varvaro, per gli aspetti correlati alla valutazione della qualità della Ricerca Scientifica. Nel 2015 è stata Referente del Direttore del DAFNE, Prof. Renato D’Ovidio, per gli aspetti correlati alla valutazione della qualità della Ricerca Scientifica. Dal 2015 al 2021 è stata Referente del Direttore del DAFNE, Prof. Nicola Lacetera, per la Ricerca Scientifica. Dal 2022 al 2025 è Referente del Direttore del DAFNE, Prof. Danilo Monarca, per la Ricerca Scientifica. Dal 2016 ad oggi è Referente del DAFNE presso il Centro Grandi Attrezzature di Ateneo. Dal 2018 al 2022 è stata componente del WP0 del Progetto Dipartimenti di Eccellenza del DAFNE dal titolo "Sostenibilità dei sistemi agrari e forestali in ambiente mediterraneo in un contesto di cambiamento globale (SAFE-Med)" con funzioni di pianificazione, coordinamento, monitoraggio, management e comunicazione. Dal 2022 al 2025 è stata Componente della Commissione Didattica del DAFNE. Dal 2022 al 2026 è stata Coordinatrice per l'Università della Tuscia di SPOKE 3 - Formazione universitaria, Corsi di Dottorato Industriali, Internazionalizzazione - nell'ambito del Progetto Rome Technopole. Dal 2023 al 2025 è stata componente del WP0 del Progetto Dipartimenti di Eccellenza del DAFNE dal titolo "Digitali, Intelligenti, Verdi e Sostenibili(D.I.Ver.So)” con funzioni di pianificazione, coordinamento, monitoraggio, management e comunicazione. Curriculum vitae - English Roberta Bernini graduated in Chemistry in 1992 with full marks and honors (110/110 cum laude) from Sapienza University of Rome. In 1998, she obtained a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Tuscia, Viterbo. In 1998/1999, she was awarded a research fellowship funded by the Interuniversity Consortium “Chemistry for the Environment” (INCA). In 2002, she joined the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences at the University of Tuscia as a Researcher in Organic Chemistry (SSD CHIM/06). In 2004, she obtained the Specialization Diploma in Chemistry and Technology of Natural Organic Substances from Sapienza University of Rome. Since 2011, she has been affiliated with the Department of Agricultural and Forest Sciences (DAFNE) at the University of Tuscia, where she has served as Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry (SSD CHIM/06) since 2015. In 2018, she obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor in Organic Chemistry (SSD CHIM/06). From 1993 to 2009, she was a member of the Research Unit of the Interuniversity Consortium “Chemistry for the Environment” (INCA). Since 2015, she has been affiliated with the National Interuniversity Consortium for Materials Science and Technology (INSTM). From the AY 2003/2004 to AY 2012/2013, she was a member of the Academic Board of the PhD Program in Environmental Sciences at the University of Tuscia (Ministerial Decree 224/99). Since the AY 2013/2014, she has been a member of the Academic Board of the PhD Program in Plant and Animal Production Sciences at the University of Tuscia (Ministerial Decree 45/2013). From the AY 2018/2019 to AY 2024/2025, she served as Coordinator of the PhD Program in Plant and Animal Production Sciences. She has participated in numerous competitively funded research projects (PRIN 1995, PRIN 1998, PRIN 2000, FIRB 2003, PRIN 2005, PRIN 2008, FIRB 2008, PRIN 2012, AGER 2016). Since 2018, she has been a member of the Research Unit of the MIUR “Departments of Excellence” Project awarded to DAFNE. From 2017 to 2023, she was Scientific Coordinator of the University of Tuscia Research Unit within the framework of PRIN 2017. She is currently the Scientific Coordinator of research projects funded by the Lazio Region. She is the Scientific Coordinator of several research agreements and collaborations with universities and research institutions and supervises undergraduate and graduate students, scholarship holders, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers. She serves as reviewer for numerous international journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. From 2012 to 2017, she was a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Current Green Chemistry (Bentham Science Publishers). Since 2018, she has been a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Natural Product Research (Taylor & Francis). From 2020 to 2022, she served as Guest Editor for the journal Nutrients (MDPI). Her research activity focuses on the design and development of new biologically active molecules (antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer compounds) through green chemistry synthetic methodologies; on the preparation and characterization of natural extracts from plant matrices of interest in the agronomic, food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical fields; and on the valorization and reuse of molecules present in agro-industrial waste for the production of high added-value compounds, in accordance with the principles of green chemistry and the circular economy. Since the AY 2011/2012, she has been affiliated with the Department of Agricultural and Forest Sciences (DAFNE), where she has carried the full teaching load for SSD CHIM/06 with courses in “Organic Chemistry and Elements of General Chemistry” for Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Management of Forests and Urban Green Areas; “Organic Chemistry” for the Professional Bachelor’s Degree Program in Seed Production and Nursery Management; “Chemistry of Natural Organic Substances” for the Master’s Degree Program in Biotechnology for Food Safety and Quality; and “Chemistry of Natural Organic Products” for the International Master’s Degree Program in Plant Biotechnology for Food and Global Health. At the University of Tuscia, she has held and continues to hold academic positions related to university scientific research and DAFNE activities. From 2009 to 2015, she was a member of the University Scientific Research Committee representing researchers in the technical-scientific macro-area.
