Curriculum

Prof. Eng. Marco Marconi, Ph.D., is Associate Professor in the academic discipline ING-IND/15 - Design methods for industrial engineering at the Department of Economics, Engineering, Society and Business Organization of the Università degli Studi della Tuscia, Viterbo, Italy. He currently teaches “Machine Design - Mechanical Drawing module” at the Bachelor Degree Course in Industrial Engineering, "Technical Drawing" at the Bachelor Degree Course in Design for Sustainable Industry and Territory, “Virtual Prototyping” and “Additive Manufacturing – Design for Additive Manufacturing module” at the Master Degree Course in Mechanical Engineering, “Design for Circular Economy” at the Master Degree Course in Circular Economy. He obtained the Bachelor Degree Electronic Engineering in 2005, the Master Degree in Telecommunication Engineering in 2007 and the Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering curriculum Mechanical Engineering in 2017 at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematical Sciences of Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, Italy with a thesis about design for circular economy. From March 2009 he was Scientific Collaborator and Research Fellow at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematical Sciences of Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, Italy. In October 2017, he joined the Università degli Studi della Tuscia as Assistant Professor (RTD-a) and then from december 2019 as Tenure Track Assistant Professor (RTD-b) He is the coordinatore of the Bachelor Degree Course in Design for Sustainable Industry and Territory, Università degli Studi della Tuscia. From 2018 to 2019 he was a member of the board of professors of the Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, Italy. From 2020 he joined the board of professors of the Ph.D. in Engineering for Energy and Environment, Viterbo, Italy. In November 2018 he obtained the Italian Scientific qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor for scientific sector “09/A3 – Industrial design, Machine construction and Metallurgy”, valid until November 2027. He is currently the department referent for job placement. He is Member of the Board for the Master course in Innovative management for competitive finance and European projects at the Department of Economics, Engineering, Society and Business Organization, Università degli Studi della Tuscia, Civitavecchia campus, Italy. The scientific activity regards the following main research topics: Methods and tools for product configuration; Methods and tools for Design for X (assembly, disassembly, environment, end of life, etc.); Methods and tools for ecodesign, life cycle assessment and life cycle management; Methods and tools for sustainable manufacturing. He currently acts as Guest Editor for three Special Issue of the journals Sustainability (MDPI Publishing) and Frontiers in Sustainability (Frontiers Media). He constantly acts as reviewer of several reference journals (Journal of Cleaner Production, International Journal of Production Research, Resource, Conservation & Recycling, Sustainable Production and Consumption). He participated as Session Chair, relator and reviewer to several international conferences (e.g. ASME IDETC, ICED, DESIGN, CIRP LCE, CIRP DESIGN, CAD). He is author of more than 90 indexed scientific papers published in international journals and proceedings of international conferences.
