Curriculum
Giacomo Branca is Associate Professor of Economic Policy at Tuscia University (Viterbo, Italy) and Adjunct Professor of Food Policy at the American University of Rome. He coordinates the Economics of Sustainable Agri-food Systems Lab at Tuscia University, financed through several EU research programs. His analyses focus on agriculture and food economics & public policy, with emphasis on the interface between ecosystems, agri-food value chains and socio-economic models, in a development context. He also cooperates with international organizations (FAO, IFAD, World Bank) to support the design of investment projects focusing on the economics of smallholder farm production and resilient agriculture systems, and to develop agriculture policy plans and investment strategies. He has over 20 years of working experience in developing and emerging economies in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. He holds a PhD in Agriculture Policy from Tuscia University, a MS in Agriculture and Resource Economics from The University of Arizona and a BS in Agricultural Sciences from Tuscia University. He speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish.
