Degree Course: Seed Production and Nursery Management

Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione
Per mezzo delle lezioni frontali e dello studio personale previsti dalle attività di base e caratterizzanti e tenute da docenti universitari ed esperti del mondo delle professioni, il laureato in Produzione sementiera e vivaismo acquisirà le conoscenze inerenti:
- la produzione sementiera delle piante erbacee;
- la produzione di giovani piante orticole;
- la produzione di giovani piante da fiore;
- la produzione di giovani piante da frutto e dei portinnesti;
- la produzione di giovani piante forestali, ornamentali arboree e arbustive;
- la scelta delle strutture e attrezzature per il vivaismo e la produzione di sementi;
- il mercato e la normativa delle sementi e delle giovani piante.
In occasione dello svolgimento del tirocinio e della redazione della tesi di laurea, lo studente svilupperà
inoltre la capacità di integrare e implementare sintetizzare informazioni eterogenee e complesse, valutandone la validità e la completezza.
La conoscenza e capacità di comprensione dei contenuti sopra citati verranno verificate mediante prove scritte e orali eventualmente integrate da prove pratiche e/o attività progettuali.
Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione
Per mezzo delle esercitazioni in laboratorio ed in campo tenute durante le lezioni frontali e con attività autonoma, delle esperienze di laboratorio e delle attività di tirocinio, il laureato in Produzione Sementiera e Vivaismo acquisirà la capacità di:
- applicare le sue conoscenze in un contesto lavorativo, in particolare per quanto riguarda la collaborazione alla gestione di sistemi produttivi complessi ad alta intensività;
- utilizzare gli strumenti analitici per la determinazione degli aspetti qualitativi delle produzioni sementiere e vivaistiche;
- coordinare attività di produzione e di mercato;
- progettare e condurre lo sviluppo di nuovo materiale vegetale (varietà, ibridi;
- gestire le procedure previste per la registrazione e iscrizione varietale;
- operare con approccio proattivo all'interno di un gruppo di lavoro, fornendo il proprio contributo propositivo e costruttivo.
Contribuiranno anche la ricerca bibliografica e le attività di campo, nonché lo svolgimento di progetti previsti nell'ambito degli insegnamenti, oltre che in occasione della preparazione della prova finale.
La verifica del raggiungimento delle capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione sarà svolta mediante esami scritti e/o orali, nella valutazione di relazioni, esercitazioni, attività di soluzione di problemi svolte dallo studente.
Autonomia di giudizio
Lo studente acquisirà e svilupperà progressivamente le capacità di identificare, disaggregare e risolvere autonomamente le problematiche specifiche nell'ambito della produzione sementiera e del vivaismo.
Lo studente sarà inoltre in grado di avere una visione sinottica del suo ambito di interesse e dare un giudizio autonomo dei risultati ottenuti e identificare le più opportune azioni correttive.
Ciò sarà sviluppato e verificato in occasione di esercitazioni, nella preparazione di elaborati di tesi e di tirocinio.Abilità comunicative
Lo studente acquisirà un livello di conoscenza del linguaggio tecnico specifico delle discipline oggetto di studio tale da consentirgli di comunicare efficacemente in italiano e in inglese (B1), nonché la capacità di comprendere e redigere documenti tecnici, normativi e contrattuali impiegando una adeguata terminologia.
Le abilità comunicative scritte e orali saranno verificate in corrispondenza delle prove di profitto e la preparazione e esposizione di relazioni tecniche, progettuali, del tirocinio e della tesi finale.
Capacità di apprendimento
Lo studente acquisirà una capacità di apprendimento che gli consentirà di rendere le proprie competenze adeguate alle nuove esigenze della professione e del mondo operativo.
Egli dovrà pertanto essere capace di sapersi aggiornare sull'evoluzione delle tecniche dei metodi operativi, dei materiali, delle procedure e della normativa negli specifici settori in cui opererà.
Tali obiettivi saranno raggiunti sia attraverso le attività formative previste per i differenti ambiti disciplinari sia attraverso le attività formative svolte autonomamente sotto la supervisione di docenti e di tutor aziendali.
Il raggiungimento delle capacità di apprendimento sarà progressivamente verificato dalle diverse prove d'esame previste nel corso e mediante la valutazione dell'attività di tirocinio svolta.Requisiti di ammissione
Per accedere al corso di Laurea in Produzione Sementiera e Vivaismo occorre essere in possesso di un diploma di scuola secondaria superiore o di altro titolo di studioconseguito all'estero e riconosciuto equipollente secondo la normativa vigente.
È prevista una prova di ammissione per la verifica della preparazione dello studente.
Tale prova, organizzata e seguita da docenti del corso di studio, è volta a verificare le competenze in ingresso necessarie per intraprendere con successo il corso di studio.
È richiesta un'adeguata preparazione iniziale costituita da capacità logiche, matematiche, di comprensione di un testo e di padronanza della lingua italiana.
Qualora la prova non risulti positiva, verranno assegnati obblighi formativi aggiuntivi da soddisfare nel primo anno di corso.
Le modalità di verifica delle conoscenze propedeutiche e le procedure per il recupero di eventuali debiti formativi saranno specificate nel Regolamento Didattico del Corso di Studio.
Prova finale
La prova finale per il conseguimento del titolo prevede la discussione di un elaborato scritto su uno studio teorico, e/o sperimentale, e/o progettuale su uno specifico problema applicativo con dimostrazione di una sufficiente analisi critica e corretta impostazione metodologica.
Alla prova finale sono riservati 3 CFU.
La votazione della prova finale sarà espressa in centodecimi con eventuale lode.
Alla formazione del voto finale concorrono la carriera studiorum dello studente, la valutazione della qualitïà dell'elaborato finale e della presentazione dinanzi alla commissione di laurea.Orientamento in ingresso
L'Ateneo offre numerose opportunità di orientamento in ingresso durante tutto l'anno attraverso attività diversificate rivolte alle scuole secondarie superiori, agli studenti e alle loro famiglie.
Le attività svolte consistono in colloqui con i docenti, sportello di orientamento personalizzato, progetti di alternanza scuola-lavoro, consulenza e supporto degli studenti tutor, nonché nella organizzazione di eventi presso le strutture dell'Ateneo e dei dipartimenti (Open Day) e nella partecipazione a manifestazioni in ambito territoriale, regionale ed extraregionale, quest'ultime coordinate dall'Ufficio Comunicazione e Orientamento dell'Ateneo.
A livello dipartimentale le attività di orientamento in ingresso per il corso di laurea sperimentale ad orientamento professionale sono coordinate dal Referente del Dipartimento di afferenza del corso.
Per l'organizzazione e l'espletamento del servizio di orientamento Il Referente si avvale della collaborazione dei docenti tutor e degli studenti tutor.
Tali attività comprendono colloqui di orientamento con i docenti del corso secondo un calendario prestabilito e pubblicato sul sito del Dipartimento.
Inoltre, vengono svolti incontri e giornate dedicati all'illustrazione delle competenze didattiche e scientifiche che gli studenti potranno acquisire durante il percorso formativo della laurea professionalizzante (Giornate aperte "Open Day di Dipartimento"):
Vengono effettuate visite alle infrastrutture a disposizione del corso si studio nonché attività di divulgazione on line delle caratteristiche del corso e delle opportunità che offre anche in funzione degli sbocchi lavorativi.
I docenti sono anche a disposizione delle scuole secondarie superiori che ne fanno richiesta per giornate di orientamento in loco dedicate alla presentazione del corso di laurea e della sua offerta didattica.
Il Dipartimento di afferenza del corso partecipa attivamente al progetto alternanza scuola-lavoro con le scuole secondarie nell'ambito del quale vengono organizzate iniziative per coinvolgere gli studenti.

Il Corso di Studio in breve
Corso di Laurea triennale professionalizzante in Produzione Sementiera e Vivaismo (classe di laurea L-25 in Scienze e Tecnologie Agrarie e Forestali) con l’obiettivo di rispondere alle aziende sementiere e vivaistiche dei settori frutticolo, orticolo, floricolo-ornamentale e forestale che, operando in un contesto altamente competitivo sia a livello nazionale che internazionale e con l’esigenza di una continua ricerca di innovazioni tecnologiche, necessitano di tecnici laureati in grado di programmare e gestire la produzione di sementi e giovani piante di elevata qualità e con specifiche caratteristiche agronomiche.
I tecnici avranno competenze in ambito agronomico, fitopatologico, biotecnologico, economico-giuridico e commerciale, ed esperienze dirette di formazione presso aziende, enti pubblici, laboratori o ordini professionali coinvolti nel processo formativo.
Gli ambiti lavorativi riguardano la consulenza e la gestione della produzione di piante e sementi presso aziende o in libera professione; la certificazione della qualità delle produzioni vivaistiche e sementiere; la costituzione, registrazione e protezione delle novità vegetali e l’attività di marketing nella filiera vivaistica.
Lo studente espliciterà le proprie scelte al momento della presentazione,
tramite il sistema informativo di ateneo, del piano di completamento o del piano di studio individuale,
secondo quanto stabilito dal regolamento didattico del corso di studio.

Genetica e principi di miglioramento genetico

The course aims to provide the information necessary for understanding of the theoretical and experimental bases of plant genetics and breeding, both classical and modern.The knowledge acquired will allow students to obtain the main tools for operating in the field of plant breeding, particularly in the process of creating new genetic variability and selecting phenotypes of interest. Basic concepts will be explained first, such as structure and function of hereditary material, flow of genetic information, chromosomal basis of heredity, and sources of genetic variability. In the second part of the course, explanations will be given of specific aims and methods in breeding of plants with different reproductive systems, as well as of the analysis of populations genetic structure. Elements of quantitative genetics and complex traits inheritance will be provided, regarding in particular traits of agricultural interest.

Tecniche avanzate di selezione

1) Knowledge and understanding: the course aim to provide the student with the basic principles of biotechnologies applicable to molecular marker development and use in marker assisted selection and plant breeding in general. 2) Applied knowledge and understanding: basic biotechnological methodologies are introduced with reference to molecular marker. 3) Making judgements: the advantages and disadvantages of each presented technology are illustrated, to develop the student's critical sense. 4) Communication skills: students are asked questions during the classes, both to keep their attention and to teach them to ask questions and give adequate answers. 5) Learning skills: the theoretical bases of the different genetic biotechnologies presented are provided and, for some of them, also the practical bases, through laboratory and in silico exercises.
