ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF AGRO-ZOOTECHNICAL SYSTEMS
(objectives)
A first objective of the course is to provide the knowledge necessary to understand the complexity of agro-zootechnical systems in relation to the main animal species bred for the production of food intended for humans. The main objective of the course is to represent the most important aspects of the environmental impact of breeding activities according to a logic that will take into consideration the entire chain that goes from the production of food for livestock to the consumption of meat, milk and eggs. Another objective of the course is to provide knowledge about the interventions that can be implemented to reduce the environmental impact of the production of food of animal origin. At the end of the course, the student must have acquired the ability to recognize the main threats to environmental protection deriving from breeding activities and to identify possible strategies for reducing their impact.
