(syllabus)
The aim of the course will be to explore some of the most famous poetical texts from the Renaissance to the modern era and to contextualise them in their cultural and historical background. After some lessons devoted to the cultural history, the form, the style and the main topics of English poetry the other lessons will be devoted to the close reading and analysis of the texts according to a historical arrangement.
