The course will explore the following subjects: comparative law: goals and methodology; civil law vs. common law; forms of State; forms of government; electoral systems and political parties; constitutions and legal sources; constitutional review; rights and freedoms; comparative law in action: selected topics

Textbook: L. PEGORARO - A. RINELLA, Sistemi costituzionali, Giappichelli, Torino, 2020. Attending students will be tested on the subjects touched upon throughout the course. Non Italian-speaking students are allowed to sit the exam and being tested on the following textabooks: -M. Tushnet, Advanced Introduction to Comparative Constitutional Law, Edward Elgar, 2018; AND -A. Buratti, Western Constitutionalism. History, Institutions, Comparative Law, Springer 2019.
