18542 Storia dell'arte medievale in Sciences of Cultural Heritage L-1 MADDALO Silvia
(syllabus)
The course is divisible in two modules (each one with 24 hours). The first module “Per una storia dell’arte medievale dal tardo-antico al gotico internazionale (secoli IV-XIV)” offers a basic knowledge of medieval art history. The detailed module offers a deepen knowledge on some specific monumental context in Rome (Santi Cosma e Damiano, Santa Sabina, Santa Prassede, San Clemente, Santi Quattro Coronati, San Giovanni in Laterano e Sancta Sanctorum, Santa Maria in Ara Coeli) and in Viterbo (Santa Maria in Gradi, San Francesco alla Rocca, San Sisto, San Lorenzo) The lections will be supported with exercises, seminars and visits to some monumental places, visits to a library for manuscript conservation (Biblioteca degli Ardenti, Viterbo), to museums (Museo Civico in Viterbo) and to exhibitions.
