The course is divided into two parts, customs law and port law.
In part I, a historical introduction of customs law is made, from antiquity to modern times to better frame the current customs legislation and the function of customs; the competition rules and the EU, customs administrations, customs declaration, duties, taxes with equivalent effect, customs operators and representatives, customs regimes, free zones, dumping and state aid are presented.
Part II deals with the discipline of port authorities, the development of ports, port services, competences, port areas.
Both parts deal with practical cases of national and EU interest, in order to better frame the topics covered.
