LINGUA E TRADUZIONE-LINGUA FRANCESE
(objectives)
The objective of the French Language and Translation Course-French language is to bring the student to a basic (A1-A2), but organic knowledge of the French language. At the end of the course, the student will have assimilated the main grammatical structures of the language and will be able to express simple concepts of familiar topics in writing and understand simple conversations and short written texts. Learning outcomes Students will be able to:
1) Knowledge and understanding: recognise the most basic syntactic structures with a moderate level of accuracy, orally and in writing. 2) Applying knowledge and understanding: acquire automatisms for using the most common syntactic structures. 3) Making judgements): reflect on language from grammatical and contrastive points of view. 4) Communication skills: to gain in fluency and confidence in professional situations. 5) Learning skills: develop strategies autonomously in order to express oneself correctly in a foreign language.

COURSE PROGRAM The course contents are presented in étapes from 0 to 6 of the Palmarès en poche textbook and are listed as follows: Communication skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) referred to simple and routine activities on familiar and usual topics, such as, for example: introduce yourself , talk about your family, your work and studies, describe the place where you live, the people you know, describe your everyday activities, talk about your projects; understand simple written texts relating to areas of personal or usual or professional interest (military life); write simple texts on personal or family matters or daily activities and environment in which you live. Grammar knowledge : basic elements of French grammar and simple sentence structures (level A1/A2) (the detailed list is in the textbook Palmarès en poche, Étapes from 0 to 6, section: circuit grammaire). Teaching units are organized in blocks lasting three hours each including revision and reinforcement of the language structure. A specific focus is provided on French language for special purposes (military life) (see reference bibliography, En avant textbook for French overseas army).
