(syllabus)
The first module of lessons aims to illustrate the transformations of the museum forms, the role and the functions they have accomplished in the various nations and epochs of the Renaissance today through some salient stages of museology: the princes' studios and collections, Enlightenment, the collector state, the great museums of the nineteenth century, the museums of science, post-war museums and 21st century museums. In addition, attention will be paid to forms of museums such as Civic Museums, House Museums, City Museums, Diffused Museums, Ecomuseums and Virtual Museums. The second core of lectures will focus on the organizational and management aspects of the museum with references to museography, preventive conservation, arrangement and layout of collections. Finally, the third module will be devoted to the history, tools and methods of museum teaching in Italy and to the novelties highlighted by recent legislative actions in the relationship between school and museum. The exercises and the inspections at the Museums will be an integral part of the course.
