LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The course introduces the student to the knowledge of the basic physical laws applied in the field of diagnostics for the study and conservation of Cultural Heritage. The course is aimed at providing the tools necessary for the application of the investigation methodologies used for the characterization of materials, the study of executive techniques and for the value of the state of conservation of the artistic heritage works. The main non-destructive and micro-destructive techniques will be dealt with in detail.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Knowledge of the main diagnostic investigation techniques and of the information that each is able to provide. Ability in reading and interpreting the acquired data. Ability to plan a diagnostic campaign based on the data required for the study of the work or for its conservation.
