BALISTICA FORENSE
(objectives)
Educational objectives The purpose of the study of forensic ballistics is to provide the student with the assessment tools to suggest to the prosecution or defense the best scientific and technical strategy to follow in the criminal trial, in particular it will lead him to seek the "evidence certified "to be submitted for discussion. Law no. 397 of 2000 on defensive investigations recognizes the parties the right to "defend themselves by trying" by taking advantage of the work of "technical consultants"; what until then was reserved to the Public Prosecutor today is also donated to the private and therefore to the "Defense". The course of study initially sees the acquisition of knowledge of ballistic elements, weapons, ammunition, cartridge cases, bullets that can be found at the crime scene. The dynamics of internal, external and terminal ballistics will be examined below to better understand what can be found at the crime scene. Everything must then be evaluation material to establish the best path to reach the "certified test" to be presented naturally to the Judge in the context of the hearing. In the final part of the course the student will have the opportunity to carry out one or more practical activities in the technical-scientific-investigative field which will then translate into a written technical report to be presented at the time of the exam.
