After a brief review of what is the economic value of the territory we will then address the study of the local territorial systems and will analyze the economic globalization process, taking into account the theme of sustainable development and the latest theories on smart and green economy. We will deepen the potentials of the Geographic Information Systems with a special focus on the relationship between population and inhabited territories in order to allow the knowledge of organizing the urban, rural and mountain touristic space.
