Following the story developed in the first book of Stories of Herodotus, father of historiography, the course aims to retrace and address the causes of the Persian wars. The first book of stories is presented as a text of considerable importance. Here in the fact in the incipit (I 1) Herodotus reflects on the epochal event that he is about to examine and at the same time he proposes for the first time in the context of western literary production a careful analysis on the historie, the historical research conducted through precise criteria with the which Thucydides will confront.
