After the Second World War the reflection of historians on the events of Nationalsocialism was very wide. The course of Contemporary History intends to consider these events and their various interpretations, outlining the peculiar characteristics. The course of Contemporary History will address the following topics: 1. the seizure of power by Nationalsocialism; 2. the preparation of the war; 3. Germany in the Second World War; 4. the fall of the Nationalsocialist regime; 5. the Third Reich in European history; 6. the interpretations of Nationalsocialism.

For those who attend classes: paper (8 pages) prepared by each student on one or more of the topics developed during the lessons, using the notes taken in class; also the study of the volume by Klaus Hildebrand, Il Terzo Reich, Editori Laterza, Roma Bari, 1997, pp. 137-286. For those who does not attend classes: Klaus Hildebrand, Il Terzo Reich, Editori Laterza, Roma Bari, 1997, pp. 3-286. Hildebrand’s book is not on the market and the Casa Editrice Laterza did not reprint it. Students can photocopy the volume or scan it in PDF format in the Library of the Social Humanist Pole located in Santa Maria in Gradi. If necessary, they can contact prof.
