(syllabus)
The course aims to provide students with the categories, methodological tools and fundamental questions of political science. In the first part, there will examined the main disciplinary traditions and their respective developments starting from the key concepts of the subject (State, nation, democratic and non-democratic regimes) as well as from the actors of the same (political elites, parties, interest groups) and by institutions (governments, parliaments, electoral systems). Once acquired the basic knowledge and critical tools, in the second part (monographic), instead, the different declinations of the 'political' will be analyzed and, in particular, the figure of the partisan and his relations with the terrorist in the global society, in Carl Schmitt's thought.
