Introduction to the chemistry of carbon - Chemical bonds (ionic interactions, covalent bonds - Hybrid orbitals - Inter-molecular interactions (dipole-dipole interactions, Van der Waals forces and hydrogen bond) - Acids and bases – Resonance - IUPAC Nomenclature - Functional groups - Structural isomers - Stereoisomery (geometric, enantiomers, diasteromers and meso forms) - Aliphatic hydrocarbons (alkanes, alkenes and alkynes)- Conformational analysis in alkanes - Alkenes: reactions of electrophilic addition - Aromatic compounds and reactions of electrophilic substitution - Alkyl halides: SN1, SN2, E1, E2 e E1cb reactions - Phenoli - Alcohols- Ethers - Aldehydes and ketones: reactions of nucleophilc addition.
