Course title: Emergencies of the present in contemporary art of Europe and the Mediterranean area
The course aims to outline the linguistic and thematic characteristics of contemporary art in Europe and the Mediterranean area over a period of time between 1989 and today. Starting from a controversial exhibition such as "Les Magiciens de la Terre" (1989) which started the debate on the questions of otherness and the use of artistic methods relegated to minority areas of art history as craft practices will cross junctions and debates to compose a picture of the ferment and the issues that animate the geographical context under consideration.
