(syllabus)
The course is divided into two parts. The first outlines the Byzantine art from the 6th to the 14th century through the analysis of some particularly significant monuments; the second is dedicated to the deepening of artistic production (architecture, miniatures, mural paintings) in Syria and its relationship with Byzantium . The course includes two visit to Rome at the church of Santa Maria Antiqua al Foro Romano and the Vatican Museums.
