(objectives)
The aim of the course is to provide students with cultural and operational tools for landscape and environmental planning. In particular, the module will focus attention on the role of vegetation in the urban environment, not only for the ecosystem services provided to the urban organism, but also for the social implications on public space, on the quality of life of citizens, on the livability of the city Contemporary. Starting from the basic cartography, from the Rome PRG and the Regional Landscape Territorial Plan, the student will have to develop a reading and interpretation ability of the reference urban context, which takes into account the ecological-environmental aspects of the public space network, historical, archaeological and cultural emergencies. The skills acquired must allow him to develop a synthetic Green Plan in an urban area.

The lessons will critically address issues and problems of the contemporary city and the management of the territory, with particular reference to environmental issues and the role of landscape and environmental planning in the current context. An overview of the town planning tools in force will be provided with the aim of providing students with knowledge of the operational procedures of landscape planning; but also a regulatory and knowledge reference scenario to develop project strategies on a local scale. The lessons will include the following topics: definitions of landscape, environment, territory; Current reference framework for Urban, Environmental and Landscape Planning. Basic cartography; the PTPR of the Lazio Region; Different urban-territorial plans; Basin and hydrogeological plans, Landscape Plan, Protected Area Plan. Territorial constraints: hydrogeological and related national and regional legislation. Environmental constraints Environmental, strategic and impact assessment of "SIC areas" and "ZPS areas" (VIA, VAS and VINCA). Climate as a tool in the design of open spaces. Landscape concept and systemic approach to landscape design; Green infrastructures. Plan of the Green.

(objectives)
Knowledge and understanding of the economic, social and environmental functions that forests, key element of most rural and urban-periurban landscape, recognized by Italian law, play in the equilibrium of a territory; Knowledge and ability to read the contents of various planning tools that apply to forestry, with special regard to protected areas; Ability to apply the knowledge gained to the ecological planning of a landscape in the urban-periurban or rural environment. Production of a landscape planning hypothesis that includes the analysis carried out on the territorial context of the plan and the main choices and decisions proposed by the plan and based on appropriate motivations. Presentation and discussion of the planning hypothesis produced for the study area, by posters showing the results of the analyzes carried out to support the choices made. Through the development and presentation of the plan hypothesis, the student will have to demonstrate that he has critical thinking, creativity in developing plan solutions and he knows how to communicate them, and the ability to collaborate within a workgroup.
