(syllabus)
The aim of the course is to introduce the technology of the machines used in the forestry sector in its constructive, functional and operational aspects.
1. Historical development of forest mechanization. 2. Physics applications applied to machines. Passive forces (friction and rolling resistance, drag, internal friction, flexible organs resistance). Thermodynamics, temperature and heat, specific heat, heat transfer. 3. Technical characteristics of forestry machines (endothermic engines, mechanical and hydraulic transmissions, tires, steering and control organs, tool connection systems, machine safety, ergonomics). 4. Proper use of machines (grip, slip control, soil constraint, traction forces). 5. Measuring work and loss times, performances, operating costs, cost-benefit analysis. 6. Tractors, chain saws, winches, shredders, harvesters, soil tillage machines, Harvesting machines for tree crops. 7. Notes on the applications of D.Lgs. 81/08 Title IV (Temporary or mobile works) and Legislative Decree 17/2010 (new machinery directive). 8. Work Safety Elements (A RSPP Module) - Legislative Decree 81. Obligations for farms and Employers.
