(syllabus)
The course examines the evolution of the constitutional system of the Italian State, the structure of the central administration of the State and its changes over time, the relationship between center and periphery, the history of the public employment relationship, the history of bureaucracies, the history of different cultures of the administration from the origins of the unitary state to the republican age. Particular attention will be devoted to the issue of the birth and evolution of public communication, starting from the first experiences in World War I and from fascist propaganda, to analyze the role of the Presidency of the Council in the years after the Second World War. Particular attention will be devoted to the analysis of the sources for the study of the history of the central and local administration: bibliographic sources and documentary sources (paper, photographic and audiovisual).
