Elements of theory The coastal system and the continental shelf. Introduction to geomorphology. Elements of benthic bionomy, the Peres and Picard model. The ecological subdivision of marine and oceanic environments: methods of investigation of the pelagic and benthic domain. Evaluation of impacts: case studies (Oil extraction platforms, shipwreck of the Costa Concordia ship, accidental pollution ...) The descriptive variables of the alterations and the biological / ecological indices. The main methods of investigation of marine ecosystems: sampling design, sampling methods, field and laboratory measurement methods. Analysis of ecological data. Marine monitoring pursuant to Legislative Decree 979/82, Legislative Decree 152/06 (transposition of the Water Framework Directive), Legislative Decree 190/10 (transposition of Marine Strategy 2008/56 / EC), of the Barcelona Convention (ECAP process)
Exercises at sea and in the laboratory Sorting and taxonomic recognition of macrozoobenthos species of mobile and hard background. Phenological and lepidocronological analysis of P. oceanica. Analysis of the epiphytic community of P. oceanica leaves. Fluorimetry measurements on P. oceanica leaves.
