TECNOLOGIE E LAVORAZIONI SPECIALI
(objectives)
The aim of the course is to present machining systems, with particular attention to those for chip removal, with a focus about their planning and optimization. In addition, the programming methods for numerical control machine tools and non-conventional machining will be illustrated. The student will have to acquire accurate knowledge of the main technologies and special processing systems, adopted in the industrial sector. In particular he will have to develop the ability to analyze production systems, with particular reference to chip removal, with a focus on their planning and optimization. The increasing complexity of production systems is described and analyzed to evaluate the performances through significant indicators: system resources utilization coefficients, productivity and products crossing times.
Expected learning outcomes: 1) Knowledge and understanding: Knowledge of machining for material removal and of the various production cycles for a mechanical component. 2) Applying knowledge and understanding: Learn about the elementary optimization techniques of material removal fabrication cycle, in order to identify and design the various production phases and process parameters. 3) Making judgements: Knowledge of the main issues related to choices made for the production of a specific component. 4) Communication skills: Maximum dimensioning of chip removal operations, programming them in machine language. 5) Learning skills: Drawing up the manufacturing cycles of mechanical components and their economic evaluation.
