The course aims to analyze and explore thoroughly the fundamental concepts of political geography in the light of the profound changes of the society. After briefly examining the theory and methods of geographical sciences, we will analyze the relationship between humans and nature, the distribution and structure of the human population, the demographic trends and urban development. In fact we live in a world that is constantly changing, where the geographical knowledge are central to the well-being of our societies, which is why a part of the course will examine the relationship between geography and technological innovations which open up new horizons in creating maps and techniques for the visualization of geographic information that enable us to see, explore and understand the global and local processes.
