The Third Reich marked the history of Germany in the Twentieth Century in a total way. The aim of the course of Contemporary History is to deepen the knowledge of the most important characteristics of the National Socialist experience in the Twentieth Century european history. The Contemporary History course will address the following issues: 1. the causes of Hitler’s rise to power; 2. the features of the Nazi government; 3. the racial and eugenic policies; 4. the Catholic Church’s attitude towards Nazism; 5. the forms of resistance to the Nazi regime.
