STORIA DEL VIAGGIO E DEI VIAGGIATORI IN ETA' MODERNA
(objectives)
Women traveling, women's journey between ceremony and sanctity Educational goals: The journey is a universal theme, evocative of metaphors that invest the very condition of life, recalling our pilgrims status on this earth in a "elsewhere" capable of teaching us the meaning of our existence. The journey was, however, far from the female world. In summary, travel has always been a male "prerogative". The choir intends to study some figures of travelers who have had a major impact on the political and social life of their time. The journey they have made (almost always a necessity related to marriage) is an essential prerequisite for understanding and understanding the role of these travelers once they have come to their respective places. These are often women of rank (queens, princesses), but in the category of "traveling" people can not even "witches", just like the simple "pilgrims" mostly cataloged in the Middle Ages. The course also aims to study the theme of pilgrimage, the re-ligious one as well as the political one, or the need for a traveling woman to find an asylum where she can be considered "secure", safe. In addition, the course will cover other categories of travelers in the dual dimension of the real and the imaginary: noble women, women's people ect. All analyzed through the reading of archive documents but also of unpublished and / or rare texts.
