Curriculum

SHORT BIO --- Antonio Taglialatela is a non-tenured Assistant Professor in English and Translation Studies at the University of Tuscia in Viterbo and co-director of the Summer School on British and Anglo-American Cultural Studies at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. After his graduation in Modern Languages and Literatures from the University of Naples L'Orientale (2006), Antonio gained a PgCert in Specialized Terminology for Language and Translation Services from the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Milan (2010) and a postgraduate master's degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation from Sapienza University in Rome (2011). He subsequently completed his doctoral research at Parthenope University in Naples (2018) and was invited to join the Executive Board of the Italian Association of Foreign Language Teachers (ANILS). Since 2014, he has taught various undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including English for Specific Purposes (e.g., Business English, Legal English, English for International Relations and Human Rights, English for Tourism and Cultural Heritage...) and English Translation. In January 2021, he received The ENGLISHERS’ ICELLL-1 Best Paper Award 2021 on the occasion of the 1st International Conference on English Language, Linguistics and Literature (ICELLL-1) organized by The ENGLISHERS’ LLL International Research and Training Group in collaboration with the National University of Modern Languages (Islamabad) and Capital Conferences (Ankara), and in March 2021, he was appointed as a research fellow in English as a lingua franca and intercultural communication by the same research group. He also received the ANILS Quality Research Award 2022 for his invaluable research and activity on the pedagogy of English within the Association. In 2020, he was a visiting scholar at the Institute of Anglo-Italian Studies, University of Malta and in July 2022, he was also appointed as an Adjunct Professor of English at the Department of Human Sciences (DISU), University of Basilicata. He is currently participating in national and international projects. His research interests and publication fields range from English as a lingua franca & intercultural communication to EU multilingualism & translation. He is a member of the European Society for the Study of English (ESSE), the Italian Association for English Studies (AIA), the Italian Association for Terminology (Ass.I.Term), and the REII Network (EC Directorate-General for Translation), among others.
