Curriculum

After his graduation in Linguistics from the University of Naples 'L'Orientale', Antonio gained a postgraduate master's degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation from Sapienza University in Rome, followed by a PhD in European Languages and Terminology Studies from the University of Naples 'Parthenope'. He is a researcher in English Linguistics and Translation at the University of Tuscia and co-director of the Summer School on British and Anglo-American Cultural Studies at the University of Urbino. He taught a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including English for Specific Purposes (e.g., Business English, Legal English, English for International Relations and Human Rights, English for Tourism and Cultural Heritage) and English Linguistics and Translation. In January 2021, he received The ENGLISHERS’ ICELLL-1 Best Paper Award 2021 on the occasion of the 1st International Conference on English Language, Linguistics and Literature (ICELLL-1), organized by The ENGLISHERS’ LLL International Research and Training Group in collaboration with the National University of Modern Languages (Islamabad) and Capital Conferences (Ankara), and in March 2021, he was appointed as a research fellow in English as a lingua franca and intercultural communication by the same group. Recently, he has also received the ANILS Quality Research Award 2022 from the Italian Association of Foreign Language Teachers (ANILS) for his invaluable research and activity on the pedagogy of English within the Association. He is currently participating in national and international projects, and his research interests and publication fields range from English as a lingua franca and intercultural communication to EU multilingualism and translation. He is a member of the European Society for the Study of English (ESSE), the Italian Association for English Studies (AIA), the REII Network (Directorate-General for Translation), and the Italian Association of Foreign Language Teachers (ANILS), among others.
